You probably already knew ctrl+t opens a new tab XD I use DuckDuckGo as my main search engine and it can use bang syntax. Like !g search term will do a Google search for search term, and Google gets the request from DDG rather than from your computer so you get a tiny bit of obfuscation as far as your search history goes. They do a few other search engines as well (I try to remember to use !eco before !g if DDG doesn't find what I'm after but that hasn't habituated yet). And !define and !syn (or !thes or !thesaurus) spits you at dictionary and thesaurus for whatever word follows them.
