RE: Is it too soon to say we're back? I'm getting excited.

Kolasinac is not Serbian, even i would have no problem if he was (we would need that kind of left back :) ) He is from Bosnia and Herzegovina.

I am baffled of our team fitness. What were they doing on training with Unai? Arteta said few times and now repeated it again after the match that a lot of players had problems with cramps. And you could see that in last 15min of the game.

Sort:

They were all chilling I guess. I think the laziness started from Wenger's latter stages and continued to Unai. Arteta is doing a good job in cleaning out the cobwebs.

Thanks for the spot there. Kolarov is a very good leftback though, is he still playing international football?

he is. was a captain in this last few matches. but he is a bit lazy at times, think that was one of the reasons pep sold him. Ivanovic was a workhorse.

Yeah and I think age is also getting to him. He was regularly racking assists for Roma last or was it two seasons ago, guess he didn't take that form to the National team.

Branislav was a monster on his day, I reckon he's still a force to be reckoned with now, though I suspect he would be a lot slower.

Kolarov has it strengths but a lot of running was never one of them :D great pass, crazy shot power, really good in crosses, but not that keen to rusch back to the defense :D

So he's basically a winger 😄. I always wonder about that aspect of wingbacks/fullbacks. Do we need more attack or defence?
Like at Arsenal for example, Saka has been doing wonders in attack but always struggles with basic defensive duties. If we were playing like Liverpool and opponents hardly ever touch the ball, will we even need someone who defends?

Arteta found one useful place for Xhaka, and it is covering the space that Saka leaves when he is up front :)

True and it is very effective.
