DON'T SHAME OTHER BODY TYPES TO VALIDATE YOURS..STOP BODY SHAMING❌❌

in Team Uganda3 years ago (edited)

Body shaming is the act or practice of subjecting someone to criticism or mockery for supposed bodily faults or imperfections. Sadly it has become a social norm all over the world.😭😠
Body shaming is criticizing your body or another person's body infront of them or behind their back. More often than we realise, it kills just like other diseases do. It brings about disorders and that's why some people end up commiting suicide.⚰️
Body shaming goes beyond the basic forms such as fat shaming or skinny shaming, it goes for height to. the likes of you are too short or you are too tall or the form of the body.

It's not and will never be okay to joke about a person's body. Let's not start conversations with people we have not met in a long time about their bodies. Like hey you are still as skinny as you were, 🙄🙄oh my your like a stick, I can clearly see ur bones 🦴🦴 or damn you have grown so fat, you have stomach rolls, do you even exercise?
Such statements are simple but could kill someone. Stop telling people what they should like inorder to be classified as beautiful.

You are extremely beautiful the way you are. You don't have to look like anyone else. Your body has nothing wrong with it, you are enough. It's the people trying to bring you down that have everything that is wrong. Do you know why? It's because they are try to mock yours to validate theirs.

I want to tell everyone that, before you think that you have a right to express your opinion about someone's body, think twice because your ignorance does not only affect others physical and mental health but could also take away their life.
To all the victims of body shaming, don't convince yourself that what you look like is more important than who you are .we need to stop body shaming ourselves so we could stop body shaming others.

Body positivity is not a trend, iam writing this for a reason, for my friends, for my future children, for the people I care about, for myself and for all the victims of body shaming.
I hope we can be better people and appreciate everyone for who they are without ever making them feel like lesser humans.
