POS chains are generally better than PoW but the maxis will generally cap some bs about the "fundamentals" and all that shit. Funny thing is that I don't hold any significant amount of ETH because I'm a Steem and Hive maximalist, and a hopeless romantic.
POW is smart, it is a more tech-inclined algorithm. POS makes cryptocurrency look like a normal investment scheme. Personally, I prefer POW and it's complicated technology.
