Talking about a good teacher is something relative, since everyone can have a different opinion of what a good teacher should be, however I want to present some characteristics that I consider relevant to make teaching an art for students to learn in the best way and where harmony and a good learning environment prevails.

We know that students can learn concepts, procedures or skills that are typical of academic performance in elementary school, high school and university, however a good teacher can facilitate the path to a meaningful learning of students, and can expand the path of that learning helping in the motivation of students, since a good teacher is not only the one who understands an academic explanation, but also is the person who constantly supports students to continue on the path of learning and academic knowledge.

Patience and empathy

Most students are not old enough to have the academic maturity that allows them to perform well, I think we all go through that path where it is difficult for us to learn, that is why a good teacher must be empathetic and put himself in the place of the students and have enough patience to accompany them in their learning and to explain as many times as necessary for them to learn.

Authority

The authority that a teacher possesses does not depend on whether he is the one who scolds the most or if he is the one who yells the most, if he really does, what he is achieving with this action is that they are afraid of him and not respect.

Respect is achieved when a teacher acts with fairness, with rigor, with correct decisions, but above all when he/she is humble, in spite of earning the praise of his/her students.

Once we obtain the respect of our students by association, we obtain the authority to be able to manage all the actions that involve for the students a correct teaching so that they have a significant learning.

Comprehensive and ongoing training

As teachers who intend to make our work something exciting, we cannot underestimate our profession, as it is a profession of great responsibility, remember that we are training future professionals, so we must be in constant training and academic application, update us in new pedagogical and educational ways that allow us to improve and be able to be more than a good teacher.

The role of a teacher is a serious one deserving so much time and attention. Combining these skills together will certainly produce a great teacher.
