THE PHOENIX PROJECT ✨ Educate & Empower disadvantaged Youth through Space Science and an Orbital Experiment 🚀🚀

in Project HOPE4 years ago

✨ Dear Steemians, ✨

Today I would like to tell you about a project we have been working on with numerous friends over the last years. It's called the Phoenix Project. The idea behind it is to educate, and empower disadvantaged youth through space science and an orbital experiment.

Our programs increase the educational opportunities and employability of young students from disadvantaged communities in the Middle East. These space science-focused STEM programs are taught to refugee and local students in several formats, including classroom instruction, interactive workshops, online learning, and experiments in the field. Each course helps bridge the gap between learning and doing, as it includes both theoretical and practical applications.

✨✨Some weeks ago, these students in Lebanon took part in their first Balloon camp, where they put all of the theoretical knowledge they have gained throughout the course into practice.

They learned how to build a rocket with Dr Simon Foster FRAS, FRMetS from Imperial College, they studied solar storms with Dr Martin Archer and conducted experiments to learn about forces and motion during flight.🚀🚀

✨We have also been also working on the Phoenix Space Command Center. It’s a physical computing kit designed to teach principles of coding and engineering through hands-on, fun space science-themed experiments.⁣ For a new generation of talented coders and entrepreneurs.

As you all know, we are no scientists by trade. We are filmmakers. That's why we filmed an online lesson for the kids of the program here in Berlin. It's fantastic because they can attend the lesson whenever they want, re-listen to it and approach their teacher with questions if they have any. It now turned into an extraordinary series of lectures where students will learn about the Origins of Black Holes, Time and Space Relativity, the scale of the universe, among other exciting things!⁣

The first lecture has been delivered by ⁣Dr. Deyan Mihaylov of the Max Planck Institute for Gravitational Physics. It was great fun filming in the Einstein Institute and get such exclusive access to this thrilling place. Before being presented to the students, it is being edited with graphics and subtitled in Arabic. We're looking forward to seeing the students inspired, curious, and amazed by what they learn about black holes in this lecture.

So, in case you're looking for last minute gift ideas, maybe the Phoenix Project is the right thing for you or someone dear to you. It's a gift that will change lives, look no further than our “All I Want” giving campaign sponsored by our charity partner, Prospero World.
🚀Your donation to Phoenix Space during this initiative helps support our space-science focused educational programs for refugee and disadvantaged students in the Middle East. It’s simple...you make a donation on someone’s behalf, and not only will you be helping us, but you’ll also receive a personalized card that you can share with the person you are donating on behalf of.

We will keep you posted on what's happening in 2021 with the Phoenix Project. If everything goes according to plan, the children will launch a satellite into space.

Have a fantastic evening!
