Tron and Steemit: The honeymoon was slightly agitated...
During these last days I tried to understand the reasons of what was being communicated by tron in connection with the purchase of steemit. I have to admit that the initial medium article could be interpreted in different ways and many of them sounded quite hostile towards the steem community. Are steemians really in danger to loose their beloved blockchain? It really sounded that way. After some thinking, I came up with another interpretation:
Why communicate the purchase of steemit on 14.2.2020?
This date was not chosen out of the blue. This was the date when Voice was going to open beta in the USA. When I look at this, I can't help to think that the main purpose of the communication of the purchase of steemit was chosen to attack Voice and to take away publicity from their beta opening.
This makes much sense to me. Justin Sun's main target is to create the number one ecosystem to develop d'apps. What is his main opponent in this? The EOS blockchain. Voice was actually planned to run on EOS but it seems that this has changed. I'm not sure about it but it was Justin and Ned that talked about that in the first minutes of their AMA. EOS offers similar services as Tron and there is another point that connects the whole story: Dan Larimer. He is at the head of EOS and of Voice. Let's not forget than Dan and Ned created Steemit together and it's possible that there was a fallout between Dan and Ned. I have no confirmation for this but I could imagine such a thing.
So this merger and also it's timing makes a lot of sense. Tron manages to take away the spotlight from Voice and acquires an alternative to voice in the social media sector. At the same time it's pay back time for Ned. By selling Steemit to Tron, he can really hurt Dan and EOS.
Why the clumsy wording and the shock-wave through the steem ecosystem?
I believe that Justin Sun doesn't have any concrete plan for steemit yet. The acquisition of Steemit made a lot of sense. The tron network has now a very well tested social network at its disposition with many users. It can compete with Voice on EOS. The message on medium was aimed at the markets and the crypto press. There was maybe not much thought behind the wording. What they wanted to highlight was that Tron now has social media in their portfolio and that it will bring a lot of active users.
Justin Sun wanted to influence the markets and the crypto world. He didn't think much about the steem users I believe. I also don't believe that he expected such an outrage in the steem community and the AMA was much more conciliatory I believe.
The steem community is very much alive!
What I learned from this few days is that Steem is an amazing community and that this social media has much more reach than any other social media website like facebook, twitter or instagram. Steem is one big family that doesn't always agree on everything. If there is something important happening however, there are our very influential witnesses and influencers that spread these news to every corner of the community. The response is amazing. The community stands quite united and I believe that the people of Tron have realized this now. I believe that they will take care how they will communicate in the future. Between us, what is Steemit and Steem without the Steemians? Tron bought us not a product or a blockchain. So I believe that it is in Tron's best interests to make us happy...

Excellent analysis. I think you are quite right about countering EOS's Voice.
BTW: EOS is in a lot of trouble because RAM prices are through the roof and you can't run or develop DApps on EOS without it.
Since last saturday I've been trying to learn to know the Tron ecosystem and I was quite appealed at how much tings cost just to do a single transaction. It's the same for EOS. I think we only realize how amazing the steem blockchain is when we try out other ones ;-). Thanks a lot for your comment!
Dear @happyvoter, @achim
You're right from the start. This date was not chosen out of the blue -> timing was just perfect.
Very true. And he shouldn't have. Things like that always take time and it's work of many people, not just one Justin. People seem to forget about it little bit to much.
I've already read tons of comments and it's clear to me, that steem community is breaking into few different groups. It's surely very worrying time for many users. Personally I decided to be optimistic.
Also one thing that people seem to forget is the fact, that Steemit Inc. has been dumping large amount of steem on the market on montly basis (any idea how much did they sell every month?). This created enormous selling pressure. I don't think Justin will follow this strategy.
Many things surely will change and some users will be gone. I expect that mostly whales and witnesses will have a very challenging time adapting. Wouldn't you agree?
ps.
I also just wrote more about my own approach to this issue. (link here). Check it out and drop some comment :)
Upvote on the way :)
Cheers, Piotr
I believe that witnesses might feel threatened and I think there is a lot of shifting already among them. Some of long standing witnesses are now fighting to stay among top 20. This seems quite interesting in a way. It forces them to stay active and to provide value for the community. This whole Tron thing brings a new dynamisme into the blockchain and I'm like you, I'm quite optimistic!
This marriage between Tron and Steemit brings some very important advantages:
It's me again @happyvoter
I just realized that I never actually thanked you for your comment. Big thx.
ps.
I would need to ask you for little favour. Recently I've decided to join small contest called "Community of the week" and I desribed our project.hope hive/community. Would you mind helping me out and RESTEEM this post - just to get some extra exposure? Your valuable comment would be also appreciated.

Thanks :)

Hello friend @happyvoter, a different point of view to the expressions of concern that I have read, this relieves me.
Thank you!
Hi my friend,
Thank you very much for your comment. I believe that it is important to take a step back and to look at this with an objective angle. The fears that were carried around simply don't make sense to me in an economical way. So I'm not too scared ;-)
I have been reading lots of things about this steem and tron issue and I must say that you are explaining this whole thing from another perspective and it makes sense, I never even thought about it in that direction and I am sure that so many people have also not reasoned it this way.
Great work.
There were indeed a lot of different approaches regarding this merger and most of it seems not very plausible. Thanks a lot for your comment!
Hello there!
I love this :D
Does Justin Sun have an account at Steemit?
Do you know of any post from the creators of TRON, here en Steemit, where they inform the whole community of the new acquisition? Or does the board just not get their hands dirty?
Because generally when there is new management, everyone involved is informed directly and not through other means. Isn't that right?
Perhaps his character is that of a silent partner?
It's just questions I ask myself.
Thanks for sharing :D
Hi my friend,
Here the account of Justin Tron on Steem: @justinsunsteemit
And here an interview with the head of communication of the steemit team made yesterday evening that quite confirms what I wrote here:

Between us have you seen how the HVOTE token evolved? I'm quite happy about that and I hope you don't regret investing in it ;-)
Yeah :D That's great!
I've been trying to invest in more HVOTE but it always surges an inconvenience and I have to use what I earn :/
But I keep it in my mind :)
Let's follow him and keep an eye on his account ^_^
...
Thanks for the information :D
I think they did not measure the impact of the communication or the surprise or fright they could unleash. For now I believe that the Honeymoon is calming down and we will have to see what life is like in this marriage. I had not thought about the relationship of this acquisition with respect to EOS and its competition with Tron, but it sounds very reasonable.
Thanks a lot for your comment my friend!

Hi @happyvoter
As I have said in other publications, I am optimistic and I am convinced that this merger will bring positive things, a lot of new people and surely new ideas and new projects, which will surely conclude in more money for everyone, more games and more publications.
