As people are confined to their homes following the Covid-19 pandemic, some businesses shut down while others had their personnel severely depleted.

A good number of businesses have taken on the "work from home" tactics.

Employees are allowed to discharge their duties from home.

This would enable the employees to work while still staying safe and prevent the risk of exposure to the virus at the workplace.

While some companies would decide to halt working from home in post-pandemic times, some others have decided to take it up a notch.

As the world slowly recovers from the Covid-19 pandemic, there are concerns about working from home and its effects on the businesses.

The Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg has just recently announced his intentions to borrow a leaf from the idea of the twitter and square boss, Jack Dorsey whose intention is for his employees to work from home "forever".

This wouldn't be the first time that Facebook would copy from its competitors as it has a history of either copying from or purchasing their competitors.

Mark Zuckerberg is an intelligent businessman, he would never fail to seize an opportunity to develop his company further.

He had, of course, analyzed the advantages and the downsides of the working-from-home policy. He stated that his company would be "the most forward-leaning company on remote work."

As many companies have experimented with their employees working from home during the pandemic, many advantages of this concept have come into the limelight.

Transportation costs are reduced and even eliminated and the time needed to commute from long distances to the workplace is saved.

Even the environment benefits from this reduction as the quality of air is improved due to a massive decrease in pollution–the aftermath of excessive vehicular movements.

There is increased productivity because people work better and faster in their comfort zones. Working from home allows for creativity and rational thinking as the pressures of office work are eliminated.

This would, in turn, make the employees happier and less likely to quit their jobs.

While the concept of working from home may seem considerate or generous even, there is a catch.

The Facebook boss understands what working from home means for his employees.

A person may choose to escape the bustles of big city life for the remote, much less expensive suburbs. For an employee of Facebook, the boss has to be notified when one moves to a different location.

Most employees in San Francisco and other big cities would leave these places with their attendant high cost of living and even higher taxes for the suburbs with their affordable housing and better standards of living.

This would, in the long run, affect the suburbs positively as with more influx of employed people comes development.

The cities would be on the negative side of this as people move away from them in their numbers.

Mark Zuckerberg's response to this would be as he stated, to "adjust compensation based on the new locations."

Salaries would be adjusted to the employee's location and those who fail to inform the boss of a change of location or are dishonest about it would be severely dealt with.

Since employees can work from anywhere, this means the expansion of the talent-hunting zones of the company.

Having employees all over the world would also enable the Facebook boss to have an insight into other markets.

With the creation of the Messenger Rooms, communication is made easier as the platform enables about fifty persons to communicate via a video chat room in real-time.

It is most likely that many companies would join this trend initiated by Jack Dorsey and Mark Zuckerberg.

Companies like Amazon, Microsoft, and Zillow and some others have already joined the work-from-home program.

These companies would also seek out those cheap talents in remote places who can now be part of them, despite their locations, as working from home dispatches the need to seek jobs that are within commuting distance.

This power move by the Facebook CEO would definitely revolutionize the job market.
