Spend What You Have And Can Afford

in Project HOPE17 days ago

One of the major financial undoings of a lot of people is that they do not live within their means, which means that they do not even care to spend what they can afford. There are some people that, making money is not much of a challenge to them, but spending the money is their major challenge - they can spend on unworthy and unnecessary things on the spot without even considering tomorrow's needs. Some financial issues that some people face can simply be solved by spending wisely. If what you spend on your wants is exactly what you earn, without even considering your needs, then you need to learn how to spend. You are not to expend money on everything; you need to know what you can afford at each given time.

There is what you can afford per time and you should know that, so you will not spend beyond what you can comfortably bear. You are not in a competition to know who is the greatest spender. It does not make sense to spend your future in the present. Some of the people you see spend on luxuries may have paid some sacrifices in the past and may already started eating their harvest from years of planting. If you follow them in their act of expenditure, you may be tempted to eat your seeds and you will not have what to plant in the future and of course, nothing to harvest. So be wise when it comes to spending.

In this era, there are many luxurious lifestyles that are being flaunted on social media and a lot of things that are seeking for your attention, but you should know what you can afford. That your celebrity crush is buying a certain product that you know you cannot afford, you should not follow their footsteps, so as not to put your pocket under unnecessary and avoidable pressure. Funny enough, it is not even the price of what you have bought that makes it look good on you. You can buy a very costly designer wear and it will not fit you as much as the generic clothes that you have. In life, avoid pressures from material things and focus more on what matters - getting better.

Living your size does not mean lacking the zeal to attain a higher height nor does it mean you should not be hopeful of having good things, but it removes unwholesome desperation from you. Ironically enough, the people you may be trying to copy their lifestyle may just be living a fake and unreal lifestyle. You may even be better than them but you are feeling sad that you cannot afford what you think they have. Believe me, some even borrowed to afford that lavish lifestyle which will definitely come with its own consequences. Remember that the idea is not to look like you have money by your lifestyle, rather the idea is to have money.

In order to be able to live within what you have and within your means, you need to learn how to budget. Your budget is like a masterplan that guides your expenditures. This is why your budget has to be factual - of course you are not trying to intimidate or impress anyone with your budget. If you cannot afford something, there are many substitutes to the same thing that are within your means, which you can go for without cracking your wallet. You may not have been able to afford it today, but by tomorrow when your finances may have improved, you can comfortably go for it.

What you are beating yourself over may not even be too important, but maybe just to fulfill your wants or maybe because others are buying it. Before spending, try to ask yourself if you really need what you want to spend on. Try to get through with your needs first before you begin to consider your wants if you still have more funds left. You have to take responsibility for your expenditures and know that a wrong spending can create untold strain on your finances, so try to limit your expenditures to what you can afford at any given time. After all, no one will beat you for not being able to afford something, so be wise with your spendings.
