The Limitless Power Of Courage

in Project HOPElast year

More often than not, what holds someone back from achieving their dreams is not the difficulty of the target they have set but the lack of courage to pursue it. Of course, lack of courage feeds your fears and makes them grow. But one thing to understand is that courage does not invalidate the fact that fears may arise, it only provides you with the strength to face it squarely. The more you put your courage to work, the little your fears become. One thing to know is that courage is only substantiated by the actions you take.

Everyone that has achieved something mind-blowing had, at some point, faced their fears with courage. This is why I believe that courage is the singular force that makes us dare the impossible and do the unbelievable. The truth is that something will always remain impossible until actions are taken to make it possible - this requires courage. In the world, you will meet things that will put fear in your heart, but you have a choice to either concede to the fear or to face it. That someone has tried a particular thing and failed at it does not mean that you cannot try it and succeed. So just try it.

In order to build up your courage to face your situation, you have to first believe in yourself. The unwavering belief in yourself and in your ability is the first step towards building courage. If you believe that you are able to achieve something or undertake a particular task, it will be easier for you to take that task. But if you believe that you are unable to do it, then you are already giving fear an upper hand in your life. What you think about yourself is what manifests in your actions. You need to learn to think positively about both yourself and your abilities.

It is true that dreaming big is actually very good, at least it gives you the enthusiasm to take up actions towards it. However, you need the courage to take the first step towards it so as to achieve it. The journey of many miles will obviously be kick-started by a single step. No matter how big your dreams are, and how "mind-blowing" your aspirations are, without taking the first step from where you are, then it will remain as just mirage. You will be surprised how that first, seemingly small step, may achieve over time. Trust me, the power that resides in the small step you are about to take is so much and may change the entire course of your life, so take it wisely.

Most times, the very action you are scared of is what may hold your breakthrough that you have been hoping for. More so, a lot of other steps from you and from others may be hinged on that particular courageous step that you are about to take. Who would have thought that the moon could be a potential travel destination and even explorable if not that Neil Armstrong and his crew took the courageous step to go to the moon? After that step, the world has seen many other space trips and at this moment, considerations are being made for Martian trip to the red planet. No wonder Neil Armstrong had this to say when he stepped on the moon:

This small step from one man will be a giant leap for the entire humankind.

Imagine if he had not undertaken that step and if no one agreed to, humans would have been confined to only Earth and may not even be aware of how other extraterrestrial bodies look like.

If you know whose destinies are tied to your own, you will not be scared to take risks. You have to know that courage and risks go hand-in-hand. That is; the level of risks you take is a direct function of how courageous you are. And of course, you cannot make a reasonable achievement in life without taking risk. To fail to take risk is to take a much bigger risk. It is true that you may not succeed at all these risk. You may succeed at some, while the others will serve as lessons to make you better. But in all these, risks are necessary if success is desired.

Very true. Not taking risks is the biggest risk of all. And it takes courage to take risks. Nice read.

Exactly. Thanks friend.
