The sense that time has been slipping away - creative expression by @cryptogecko

As soon as you are born, all of your life appears before your very eyes as if you were watching a movie. Those first few months of your life are going to be the longest of your life; it seems as though you are inseparable from the world itself as if you do not have anything else to do but to watch as it passes by.

Initially, we only feel the passing of time in a vicarious manner, as if it was something that happened to others. Living in the moment becomes second nature because you don't have anywhere else to go.

However, as time passes, life continues to move forward, and you learn to keep up with it no matter where you are. Each year your body changes, so you take it for granted that every year you will be a new human, upgraded with a new body...something different.

Your life seems to be moving so fast now, and the world seems to be standing still all around you. Summer vacation feels like it could last forever. It takes a little while to fall in step with the passing of time, to learn its rhythm, but every now and then you wonder if it has skipped a beat. Every year, it seems as if your birthday arrives one day earlier than the one before.

Youth may not be eternal, but it is certainly not for eternity. There is a lack of grandeur in the dramas of their lives. When these emotions have been adjusted for inflation, their actions make perfect sense.

Adolescence can therefore be both epic and tragic simply because it is such an exciting and tragic time in your life: you cannot let even the smallest interruption of your day influence the arc of your story.

In the course of time, the value of each year becomes smaller and smaller as each year passes by. Every birthday brings us back to the same point around the sun, so with every birthday, we cross that same point. While exchanging many happy returns, you realize that you have already gone halfway around the circle and that it really is more of a spiral than a circle after all.

The day continues in a loop, as you cut out the dead weight from your life, you are becoming gradually closer and closer to your center of gravity. As you cling to the memories you hold on to, you find that everything seems to move in its own direction.

The sensation is so incredible that you feel as if you are running even while you are sitting still. Although you can run an inch faster tomorrow and will be able to extend your arms a little further than you did today, the seconds will still slip away as you drift around the bend.

Life and death are both short, but not in the order we expect them to be.

I think I love the way you analyze how time flies without us realizing how fast it's moving. From the day we were born to our current state seems like we are revolving in a circle but we are really moving closer to our point of gravity indeed. Nice piece.
