So if we talk about this Dambadeniya Rajamaha Vihara, it is located in Dambadeniya area on Narammala Negombo road.
It is mentioned in ancient literary books that it was built by King Parakramabahu II.
This Rajamaha temple is a Tampita temple. It is the oldest building in this temple, and the main historical site here is the old Dalada Palace.

And this is a two-storied Tampita temple and the main entrance is facing the east direction. When you enter from the main entrance by a flight of stairs, you will see the Hall with Buddha statues
..... There are 4 gates to enter the temple and it is in the four directions of north, south, east and west. Faces are built.
Upstairs is divided into two main parts namely Mandapam and Herba House.
The staircase leading to the upper floor is built using wood and here we can see a polished wooden handrail with bird carvings.
Here we can see a four-bay roof and a plastered floor

The walls of the Karbha house have murals and the entrance to this house has clay murals and two images of Naga Dooratupala. Also, many people speculate that these murals belong to the Kandy era.
Apart from this, monuments built on the basis of Dalada Maliga such as Thoopaghara, Sapu Bodhia, Pohoyaghara, Bodhia etc. are also found throughout the temple grounds.
It is said that some of the paintings in Dalada Maliga belong to the Kandy period and some others belong to the Dabadeni period.
In fact, this is one place that is very beautiful and has a very ancient history.
So everyone is invited to come and enjoy the beauty of this place and learn about our history. This is a good place.

Stop for a moment and think that it is because our past people also preserved these places that today we are left to enjoy the beauty of these places to our heart's content.
