in Hindwhale Community6 days ago

Hello to the community, I hope everyone is doing great!!

So, another month is approaching, and Happy Divali to all! Hope you will receive every blessing and happiness in the upcoming months. As the year-end is approaching I am still a bit behind my dolphin target. Anyway, with consistency and commitment, nothing is impossible. So, here I am to join another Power up contest organized by @jyoti-thelight.

So, what is Powering Up? Why do we do this? What is the process? Well, don't worry! You'll get answers to all these questions. The only thing you have to remember is, it's very important, for many reasons. Especially when you start your journey here from scratch, one of my main advice is to power up and be stable on the platform.

So, simply powering up means converting the liquid Steem we receive as rewards, into its staked/power-up state. It's a few seconds process, but you have to wait a month if you want to do the vise versa. And exchanging is not possible in this state as well. So, why do we do it? You will know, but first things first!

Power up process

  • First direct to your wallet, and it's always best to log in using the posting key. Here's what my wallet looked like before the process.

  • As you can see in the below image, there is a drop-down menu in front of the amount of Steem. There is our golden step. Just click it to start the work.

100 STEEM POWER-UP

Then we are directed to the below interface.

  • As you see, out of my balance, we need to enter the desired amount to do the power-up and hit the button. Then confirm it, give the permission using the active key, and here we go! I am one step closer to my target.
After Power Up

Before Power Up - 285.882 Steem, 21,820.081 SP
Amount Power up - 100 Steem
After Power Up - 185.882 Steem, 21,920.081 SP

So, as you can see it is a pretty straightforward method. In the last month, I regularly do this, while maintaining club500 status as well. It's a total of 550 Steem per month.

The importance of Power Up

So, why do we go through this much of trouble? Why do the team and users promote this activity? It's because this process helps the users, the community, as well as the platform. This is a win-win condition for all.

Mainly, what we are doing here is building our account, and getting stabilized in the platform. With the increase in reputation, and committing our Steem here, we show our intentions in the long run. And on the other hand, when we see our account is growing it's a different kind of satisfaction.

Our voting power is proportional to our Steem power. So, with a higher amount, we get a higher voting value, so we can appreciate good posts, and help others. In return, we receive curation rewards which are a handy amount as well. On the other hand, we can delegate this to various communities, help them to be self-sufficient, and have the benefits that come with that.

As I said earlier, this builds our recognition on the platform. So, with that, it unlocks more opportunities like Steem Representatives, moderators, community curators, professors, etc.

And for the platform, this helps to stabilize the price of the coin. So, for our contribution, we receive a juicy APR as well.

So, that's it for the day. Thank you once again for hosting this nice contest. I hope you will find it interesting. I invite @sachisewwandi, @eliany, @simonnwigwe to the contest!

Until the next time! Enjoy!

Thank you.
Best Regards!
