The diary game || Better life with Steem || Temple festival and carnival
Hi friends,
I am Jyoti from India. Wish you all a happy Christmas holiday!!
In this post, I'm going to share with you the experince of my visit to the temple festival celebrations and carnival.
Yesterday, the Lord Ayyappa Swamy temple festival was held in our village. For this, many artists were invited from our state and the neighboring state of Kerala and the idol of the god was taken in a procession.
It was especially beautiful to see the women dressed as butterfly towers and the horses dressed as peacocks. Since it was night time, the lights they were wearing were blinks colorfully, which was very impressive. I stand near them and took selfie.
At some places, the procession stopped and dances were performed here and there. At that time, women dressed in costumes also danced around.
As the costumed women walked through the carnival, it was as if otherworldly beings had descended to Earth. The costumes they wore were also bizarre.
The lights they were wearing were very beautiful and a feast for the eyes. We were very awestruck to see it.
Another important aspect of this was that men came to the carnival wearing tiger masks with tiger-like images drawn on their bodies. It was very scary and awe-inspiring to see them.
During the procession, men dressed as tigers made tiger-like gestures and danced to the music, performing tiger-like dances.
I had taken my son with me. My son was scared at first but then he was happy to see them. He wanted to take a selfie with them when someone was sitting and taking a rest. Then he asked him and stood next to him and took a selfie.
The men who painted these tigers had trained specifically for this. They had developed their bodies for this. In particular, they had developed a large belly for this.
At that time, all the women took the procession carrying lanterns, lanterns, etc. The men played musical instruments. Also, artists dressed in various costumes came in the procession.
This carnival show was a very eye-catching show, very awe-inspiring and beautiful to watch.During this procession, various instruments were played, including the Nathaswaram of Tamil Nadu and the Sendai Melam of Kerala. Around 50 Sendai Melam artists stood in a row to play the instumanets called "Sendai Melams". Some danced accouring to the musical, and also recited verses.
The tigers were also painted in many colors. Orange tigers, black tigers, white tigers, yellow tigers were painted.
The idol of the god, which was taken in a procession, was displayed for the people to worship and then taken away. Then it reached the temple in our village. It was 10 pm before the procession ended. We also enjoyed the procession and then returned home.
