Top 10 Offensive Things Not To Do on Steemit

in Hindwhale Community6 months ago (edited)

Hi friends,
I am going to give some tips to new user about our steemit that I knows. Because a lot of people make some mistakes and regret it later. So here I have listed what not to do. Since I have already written similar posts but newbies don't get a chance to read it, I am writing this post to remind them again.

Top 10 Offensive Things Not To Do on Steemit

1. Plagiarism

Everyone is aware of what plagiarism is. In other words, it constitutes plagiarism to upload a copy of an already-published comment, article, blog, or other content on our blog. That's a definite don't on Steemit. Doing so will result in your post being downvoted. Their reputation will fall. So please no one do plagiarism.

Even your own thoughts and comments may have already been posted as well. So, before you hit the post button on steemit, it is better to check once. You can check your post for plagiarism at https://smallseotools.com/plagiarism-checker/

2. Account Farming.

image.png

It is an offense for a person to have two or more accounts on steemit. Some people keep multiple accounts in different names and use them to upvote their own posts. All this is considered as account farming. They will not be supported if they are found to be doing this in bad faith. And their posts will be downvoted. So everyone can progress in steemit if they keep only one account and maintain it well.

3. Using Copy Righted Images

We should not use any images/photos available on the internet in our posts, because they may be copyrighted. They may even sue us if we use such copyrighted material. If you want a content related photo/image in your post, you can share free photos from some of the sites below.

4. Getting Support from Bots

On our Steemit site, some bots receive payment and provide upvotes. Consequently, they promote and upvote low-quality posts. In order to stop this, the Steemit team announced that receiving bot help is forbidden. Our policy is to upvote well-written articles that require a lot of effort to generate. Therefore, no one should have to pay for BOT to get their support.

5. Post Repeating

Any posts or content you published and it has already been posted, even if it is your own content, you should not repost it on your Steemit blog, doing so will also be considered as plagiarism.

6. Asking Votes

image.png

You should not beg anyone to upvote your post. Doing so is not acceptable. If you want your post to get upvoted you need to make your post quality, interesting and attractive, so that your post will get upvoted automatically. Use beautiful photos, or illustrations and markdown styles to make your post attractive. Also pay close attention to the title and thumbnail image. You can use free websites like https://www.canva.com to create your own thumbnail image.

7. Tagging Curators Unnecessarily

It is an offense to unnecessarily tag curators in the hope of getting our posts noticed or upvoted by curators. Usually everyone makes this mistake in the beginning even I did it in the beginning maybe if you do then make sure you don't do it again because it is also considered as an offense that should not be done.

At the same time you can tag according to the importance of your comment or post. Especially can tag SC01 or SC02 if it is necessary, if you do so they will definitely visit your comment or post.

8. Spamming

Spamming is an offense on Steemit. Posting the same comment/content multiple times as a post or comment will be considered as spam, and if you use third party ads as a post or comment it will also be considered a spam.

9. Sharing Illegal Content

image.png

Our steemit it is a respected social network site. Never post illegal and obscene content on our steemit. Also we should not post obscene photos. By doing so, we are underestimating its value. So to make a better site we should not do such shoddy things. Likewise, do not write anything that offends others, incites controversy related to religion, race, and caste. We all have a responsibility to build good and safe social network.

10. Self vote

Self-upvoting is not acceptable. There is nothing wrong with upvoting your post once in a while. But don't upvote your posts daily. By creating good quality posts and getting them seen and read by others, you can get your posts upvoted.

Yeah, we keep telling them about these 10 points to users on this site but most of it goes on deaf ears. All users and in most cases these are seasoned users keep asking for votes, plagiarised content, and farming accounts dime a dozen.
