Dear Steemians,
It's another day to participate in an amazing contest hosted in this community by @alfazmalek which talks about believing in self-confidence. I found this contest very interesting and for that reason, I have decided to share my participation.

Do you believe in self-confidence or not? Describe self-confidence in your own words.

Yes, I believe in self-confidence. The word self-confidence simply means having a belief in yourself that you can do a certain thing or attain a certain height.

When you believe in yourself and your capabilities then you can be said to have self-confidence. So as a person, if you have mastered a particular thing over time and you know the result it brings out when you do those things it means you have self-confidence in that thing because you know the result from the beginning.

So in summary self-confidence has to do with your beliefs about a particular thing or scenario based on the fact that it has been tested and tried on several occasions and the result is always the same or almost the same.

What is the difference between self-confidence and overconfidence and how should both be kept under control?

There is a slight difference between self-confidence and overconfidence. Self-confidence as I have said earlier is based on things that you have tried and you saw a result hence you always expect such results over time.

In the case of overconfidence, it is having a belief in something that you may have not tested and tried but because you feel that something similar works in that manner you believe that that same thing should also work in the same manner.

To keep self-confidence and overconfidence unchecked you will need to have a proper confirmation all the time and also note that things may not always be the way they appear. In that way, you won't have an issue later or a disappointment if things don't work in your favor.

Is there any task that was not possible for you but you completed it through self-confidence?

Yes, I encountered an issue that my self-confidence helped me to solve it. On a certain day, I was faced with a challenge to solve a task that I had never done before but since I had done something similar I believe it will work.

I went ahead to give the task a trial and lastly, I had success in it because of the self-confidence I had. So sometimes believing in yourself matters a lot as it will help you to break barriers and achieve your desired goal.

I want to invite @josepha, @simonnwigwe and @bonaventure24 to also join the contest.

My dear you are very much correct. It's good to have confidence in us as regards to what we can do, where it becomes dangerous is when it turns out to be overconfidence, reason being that there's limit to what everyone can do. I am not against people believing in themselves but we must know that things may not always be the way they appear (in your words).

Again I like the example you gave regarding the task that proved tough but you conquered it,this is because, you have some knowledge regarding it. Whereby you just said I can do it knowing fully well that you are not knowledgeable in it would have resulted to to you being over confident. Best Wishes with the contest 💯

Self confidence is a great tool, over trusting ones ability without a prove can be disastrous.

Best wishes!
