🌐How would you describe the average internet speed in your country, is it up to world standards or not?

The average speed of the internet I use, and I understand that this is the case in most of our country, is 90 Mmps. According to what I have researched on the web, this is a figure in line with international standards and, above all, with my needs, to carry out the tasks I normally perform on the net. Since last year, when private companies were given the power to implement internet through fiber optics, this service has improved dramatically. Before, access to the web could only be done, almost exclusively, through the main communication company of the State and its speed did not exceed 2.5 Mbps. The great difference between today's Internet and that of the past becomes evident.

🌐Do you know how to test your internet speed? Share step by step the whole procedure.

My internet speed.

To test the internet speed I usually resort to one of the sites that are online for that purpose. First, I go to Google, the search engine most used by everyone in Venezuela and in many parts of the world, and type the name of the application that I use for this task: Fast. com. As soon as you enter that page, the measurement begins and in a few seconds the numbers that start running on the screen stop to indicate the speed, plus other data, such as Latency and Load, at the bottom.

🌐How can low Internet speed affect our personal and professional lives?

Life gets complicated.../ F

We know, from experience, that when the Internet speed is too low, the simplest procedures become a real martyrdom, an adventure that, many times, we do not know if it will come to an end. Watching a video, downloading a small file, for example, is exhausting and frustrating, since they tend to get stuck, with the aggravating factor that we usually have to try again from the beginning. Before Mbps were increased, it was not safe to make a payment, make a purchase, let alone communicate via video call. We lived the paradox of having very sophisticated mobile devices, but we could not, due to the shortcomings of the Internet, take advantage of almost none of its technological virtues.

In those times, uploading images to my Steemit posts was a process that required a lot of patience. I usually did this in the early hours of the morning, since during that time the network was not so busy and the speed increased. The daily and professional life was limited, without enjoying the benefits of this wonderful service; the insecurity and distrust of internet failures only created some uncertainty, especially when we learned about the astronomical speeds enjoyed by other countries in the area.

🌐In your opinion, what measures can be taken to improve the speed and accessibility of the Internet in your country?

Access to the latest developments/ F

From our point of view, the Internet improves when a country cares and executes actions that allow it to access the latest technological advances that exist in the world, when it is willing to invest so that the living standards of its citizens are increased and the nation does not remain divorced or lagging behind with respect to what is happening in our time.

As we have already pointed out to some extent, the Internet in our country has improved considerably since the moment the government authorities allowed private companies to enter the telecommunications business. If the State was not in a position to compete in these matters, or simply considered that it was not its role to assume that role, it was undoubtedly a wise decision to open a range of possibilities for other investors. These, as has been well known, compete with each other to lower costs and offer an optimal quality of service, which is a win-win situation for all of us.
