Introduction

Hello friends, I welcome you all to my blog. I am a teacher. Children went on holiday from the end of July to the second week of September, so school was closed, and the children were on long holiday. The long holiday was as if it would take forever, yet no. It got to resumption. So my school, where I work, resumed for the first term 2024/2025 session on Tuesday 17th September 2024. Most schools around my neighbourhood also resumed that Tuesday. I understand people may be wondering the reason for resuming on Tuesday instead of Monday.

School Resumption

The resumption fell on a Tuesday because that Monday was declared a public holiday to mark Id El Maulud.

Back to the resumption at my school, it was a moment of joy, reunion and somehow tears for the new intakes. It was a very funny and hilarious scene to see children who have started school for the first time cry and want to follow their parents home. Since my daughter is in pre-school, I saw all the actions and drama of the children. People thought it might take weeks before these children keep quiet.

While others were settled in school already, I noticed that some parents were still taking their wards for admission. I thought to myself. Maybe they travelled, or they relocated from another place and maybe there was no money coupled with the economy.

First Sports Activity

On Friday 20th September was the first sports activity in my school. I noticed the children were so excited. I think they missed the period they used to be organised in groups for sporting activities. Going round, the sound of singing and clapping and other dancing was a beautiful sight to behold.

My work was simple, going round to take the pictures for that day. Though I participated in the activities, it was as if I'd never exercised all through my life because I felt so much body pain after the exercise.
