The Diary game. A Day of Winter Warmth: From Orchard Watch to Evening Market Stroll

Today, I am here to share with you yet another day from my life. I hope you’ll find the time to read about it and discover something worthwhile in my experiences. Your support and votes always mean so much to me!

Due to winter, the nights are longer, and the days are shorter. So, a person who sleeps early in the evening can wake up early in the morning. These days, it is winter, and stepping outside in the morning becomes difficult. However, I have the habit of waking up early and going to the mosque for morning prayers, so this doesn’t feel too challenging for me.

This morning, I woke up, performed ablution, and then went to the mosque. People had gathered there, and I performed the prayers and supplicated afterward. When I returned home, since I can’t go for a walk these days, I did some exercises at home. In this way, I tried to keep myself fit. It gives me satisfaction that I can burn a few calories this way.

After having breakfast in the morning, I stepped outside and went to the mason who was working on laying tiles. Since it was a holiday today, I had a lot of work to do at home. I had been assigned tasks for the day, and although I felt a little apprehensive because of the cold weather, I was also motivated to complete the work.

I enjoy completing household chores, and it gives me a sense of happiness. When I sat near the mason, I guided him on what needed to be done and from where to start. After that, I returned home. Following a short rest to warm up, I headed toward an orchard.

Due to winter, food becomes scarce in the fields, and animals attack apple trees, eating their bark. This often leads to the trees drying up, causing significant damage. To avoid such losses, keeping a watch on the orchards has become very important these days. Today, I took my brother along and explained to him how and where to keep watch. After spending some time in the orchard, I returned home, as there were plenty of pending tasks at home.

I had to clear things from the backyard and store them in a shed, where they would remain during the winter months. These items, such as the water pump, pesticide sprayer, and various plastic pipes used in gardening, will be needed again when the summer arrives.

These days, the cold is intense, so we rely on a kangri, a traditional Kashmiri way of staying warm. It’s a small, portable fire pot made of earthenware and wicker, filled with burning embers that provide heat. After warming myself with it, I stored the walnuts that were still lying outside the storeroom. My mother had assigned me this task, and I completed it as well.

In the evening, due to the cold, I stayed indoors for some time. Later, when I needed to fetch a few items, I went to the market. After meeting some friends there, I collected the necessary things and returned home. Following dinner, I spent some time studying before going to bed. This is how I wrapped up my day.
