Hello friends,
And welcome to my blog. I will be sharing my story using the one-image representation.

I know some would be guessing what exactly am I trying to narrate from the image above. This is an image that shows a plantain plant with other green vegetation within the space that may denote a mini farm. But this also comes with an indiscriminate disposal of refuse in the same land.

Environmental and land degradation has remained one of the major problems in this side of the region. There is little enforcement and government initiatives to ameliorate or reduce this cycle of abuse other than palliative remedies that do cure the real issues.

Residents and dwellers have hinged on government inefficiencies to perpetrate this act and continue on this path of inhumane behavior. One would wonder why the neighborhood shouldn't be kept orderliness without having to pollute the entire space.

This is a neighbourhood and a piece of land behind it but my worry is why the sudden conversion of this piece of land into this gorry sight. I could remember some of the interventions made by summoning all those residents within the block of flats to a meeting, but this only seemed to work in the short term.

The menace continued, and the dump continued to grow day by day. It will also interest you to know that the landowners have kept a do not dump notification around this piece of land, but this has continued to grow unabated. I think this continued due to no follow-up from the landowners.

One of the side effects of having this kind of indiscriminate dumping of refuse is the outbreak of pandemics and other disease infestation. Though there has been an outbreak of such within the neighborhood since its inception, there is a need to permanently stop this anomaly.

However, the mosquitoes that are infested within this space have multiplied because of this dump. This is usually multiplied during the rainy season when some of these products decompose with pockets of stagnant water here and there. No doubt, we have been on routine treatment of malaria parasites with no end in sight.

Possible Solution in View

There are some solutions already in view. Firstly, I had to net all entrances leading into my apartment with the necessary wire gauze and also the introduction of treated bed nets. This is my short-term and immediate solution before other forms of peace are brokered, as stated below.

Secondly, as soon as all travelers who have gone for the yuletide are back, there should be an emergency meeting to address this with the firm agreement of a complete stop to this barbaric act. This is the most friendly and easy to achieve peace with complete seizure of waste dumping. This follows with immediate evacuation of the refuse site.

Lastly, when the latter has failed, the next alternative is to draw the attention of. The environmental and health officers for assistance, I believe, would dish out the required punishment to defaulters.

Health is wealth! Cleanliness is next to godliness!! Let's continue to keep our environment safe for human habitation.

I wish to invite @chilaw, @ikwal, and @paholags

¡Saludos amigo!🤗

Exactly my thoughts. Thanks for the feedback.
Wishing you the best of the weekend 💚
