about Contest Alert: My View, Myself Week #47
here is my entry
what do you understand by the word bitcoin
bitcoin is the first digital currency or cryptocurrency created in 2009 by a person or group of people with the pseudonym satoshi Nakamoto bitcoin allows online transactions without having to go through financial institutions such as banks technology in Bali bitcoin is called block chain, namely a decentralized and secure digital ledger system where every transaction is recorded transparently by all users of the bitcoin network has no physical form it is only a digital code whose value is recognized by users around the world
the uniqueness of bitcoin lies in its decentralized nature without being controlled by the government or a single entity besides that the number of bitcoins is limited to only 21 million creating a scarcity that makes it considered digital gold the popularity of bitcoin continues to increase as an investment asset and payment instrument even though its high value fluctuations make it controversial
nonfiction story about bitcoin
on May 22, 2010 a programmer named laszlo hanyecz printed history by buying two pizzas for 10,000 bitcoins at that time bitcoin had just started to be known and its value was very low only a few cents per piece this transaction became the first purchase of goods using bitcoin which was later known as bitcoin pizza today the value of 10,000 bitcoins used by hanyecz reached hundreds of millions of dollars showing how quickly bitcoin has grown as a valuable asset
another story comes from a Norwegian man named kristoffer koch who in 2009 bought bitcoin for $ 27 as a technology experiment years later when bitcoin started to go viral he remembered his small investment when checking his account he found that the value of his bitcoin had reached more than $ 800,000 kristoffer used the profit to buy an apartment in Oslo
What would you do with 0.5 bitcoin
if I was given a gift of 0.5 bitcoin I would save some of it as a long-term investment considering its potential for future increases and the rest I would use to support technology or philanthropic projects especially those related to the development of blockchain technology education
another name for bitcoin
another suitable name for bitcoin is cryptogold this name describes the nature of a high-value digital asset and resembles gold in the physical world because both have the same scarcity and attractiveness as an investment cryptogold also reflects the core of bitcoin technology, namely cryptography which is the foundation of its security
that's all I can say on this occasion, thank you for those who have read it, hopefully it will be useful. On this occasion I would like to invite my friends
