Today I bring you a post titled Herbal Medicine in the Kitchen which started in week 3 of season 21. I learned a lot from previous 2 herbal topics and thank you teacher @afzalqamar for that.

🌿 Recipe Creation: Create a meal or recipe using at least 3 herbs which are commonly found in your area and explain the health benefits of each herb in the recipe.


CHIKEN CURRY


INGREDIENTS
  • Chiken 1kg
  • Ginger
  • Garlic
  • turmeric
  • curry powder (coriander seeds, cumin seeds,fennel seeds, peper seeds,dry curry leaves )
  • Onions
  • curry leaves
  • paper
  • chilly powder
  • tomato
  • salt
  • Coconut Oil
  • Bay leaves

METHOD

🍗First, cut the chicken and marinate it with salt, turmeric powder, and paper. After that, put the pan on the stove, add some coconut oil to it, add the ginger garlic paste, and add some cumin seeds.

🍗Then add onion and tomato cut into small pieces and keep it for a while. Then add curry powder and chilly powder to it and temper it well for about a minute.

🍗Then add the marinated chicken to it and mix well with the spice paste. Then cover with a lid and cook for about 10 minutes on low heat.
Then add some water, curry leaves and bay leaves, cover with a lid and cook for 15-20 minutes. Add salt according to taste.

Now your delicious chicken curry is ready to go to the table.


Used in my recipe, herbs are common in the area and their high health benefits.

GINGER


Ginger mainly lowers cholesterol and helps prevent heart disease.The salicylate component in ginger helps thin the blood and the anticoagulant effect helps the blood flow freely. It also reduces the chance of blood clotting.
Ginger also helps in reducing cholesterol levels in the blood, which in turn improves liver function and reduces fatty deposits in the liver.

HOW TO USE

Ginger is useful for many different purposes. In cooking, we use ginger for garlic paste to flavor food.
It is also used to make ginger and honey extract, which is a traditional hand medicine used in Ayurveda for phlegm.

It is also used to make ginger toffees, ginger beer and various snacks. Ginger is also used to prepare hand lotions to increase the nutrition of the hair.


GARLIC


Garlic and its compounds have a high ability to boost immunity. Its anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antifungal properties increase the body's resistance to disease.
Also, consumption of garlic extract reduces the severity of colds and flu, and it works to reduce the number of symptoms and the activity of the pathogen.
Garlic extract significantly reduces blood pressure, pulse pressure and stiffness of arteries.

HOW TO USE


  • If we talk about the uses of garlic, it is used in ginger garlic paste to make food delicious.
    It is used to make garlic porridge, honey garlic, etc. hand medicine because it works as an immune booster especially for sepsis.

  • Garlic can also be dried and powdered and added to food as sprinklers.


CURRY LEAVES


When there are risks like high cholesterol and triglyceride levels, adding curry leaves to the diet can reduce some of these risk factors.
curry leaves help protect the health of the nervous system, including your brain, and contain substances that help protect against neurodegenerative conditions like Alzheimer's disease.
It exhibits strong anti-cancer effects and inhibits the growth of aggressive tumors.Useful for blood sugar control, curry leaf extract helps protect against diabetes symptoms.

HOW TO USE


  • Curry leaves also have a good flavor and can be used in many dishes like rice, soups, stews, chutneys and lentils.

  • To control the cholesterol in the body as a medicine, boil curry leaves and drink the water.Since curry leaves are rich in vitamins and calcium, having a few kale leaves in the morning helps to detoxify the body.

  • Boiled leaves are applied to hair for various problems.

  4. The various antioxidants it contains protect your skin from aging and sun damage, and it also helps treat mild skin rashes.

In my recipe today, I used coriander seeds and added it to curry powder. Curry powder is mainly used as seasoning in chicken curry. I used coriander seeds as its main ingredient.


BAY LEAVES

  1. The concentrated oil in bay leaves contains antimicrobial activity. Bay leaves also contain antifungal actions that are effective against bacteria that cause skin, gastrointestinal, and urinary tract infections and some fungal species.

  2. In general, when preparing meats, bay leaves and seasoning can be used as a main ingredient to control cholesterol. This reduces LDL cholesterol and triglycerides and increases HDL levels.

  3. And this acts as a digestive aid. Bay leaves contain enzymes that help break down proteins and aid in digestion, which can help relieve indigestion and upset stomach caused by food.

  4. I used bay leaves in the chicken curry because it is very healthy and to add a good aroma and taste to the dish.

  • MINT LEAVES

Mint leaves aid in digestion and oral health as the leaves have antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. Meenchi leaves also help with nasal congestion and breathing.

Coriander is mainly used to add flavor to food. It is used in the preparation of soups, curries, dal and biryani and meats. It adds an aromatic flavor to many dishes and can be used to add green color to meat and fish dishes and as a garnish to dishes.


  • FENUGREEK SEEDS

Fenugreek seeds reduce the blood sugar level in diabetic patients. It is also used for menstrual cramps and high cholesterol in women.
Fenugreek seeds are also used to increase milk supply in lactating mothers.
There is also a possibility of homonal balancing of women.


USES

Fenugreek seeds are highly used in Asian countries. It is mainly used to enhance the taste of food and beverages. It is also used in traditional medicine for various conditions including diabetes, menstrual cramps, sexual problems and high cholesterol.
And fenugreek seeds are used to prepare remedies for hair related problems in women.

Also, cinnamon tea is very famous all over the world. Also, cinnamon oil is a must for essential oil collection. These are also used for the production of perfumes and scented candles.

Rosemary is widely used in cooking all over the world and it is mainly used for flavoring food and also for the production of soaps and cosmetics.
Hair problems in women can be relieved by rosemary.


🌿Detox Medicine :Prepare a herbal detox medicine and tell step by step process and how it helps to detoxify the body?

I am going to share with you a super detox medicine recipe. It can actually be called a meka detox tea. I drink this herbal detox tea twice a week. This is mainly a fat burning drink. So I don't forget to drink this detox tea on the day I eat more oily food.


INGREDIENTS


  • garlic cloves 4-5
  • pepper seeds 10- 12
  • bee honey 1tb
  • water 2 cups

METHOD


☕ Add water to the pan and add garlic cloves and pepper to it and boil for about 10 minutes .

☕Then put it in a cup and add 1 table spoon of bee honey to it and mix it well. Now your detox tea is ready.
