Greetings of the day my foodies friends of SIC!

Hope you are having a nice start of the weekend around delicious foods and loved ones!

Earlier today, while walking at the back of my restaurant, I noticed the pumpkin plants of my sister full of lovely flowers!!!

I just couldn't stop myself to pick up some and make some crispy tempura with them!

Ingredients needed :

So yes, you will only need pumpkin flowers, salt, pepper, tempura flour, cajun spice and oil for frying!

The most important is to well clean the flowers.

You will see a lot of tiny ants inside, you just need to take them out and rinse the flowers in clear water.

We need only the petals for the tempura.

Mix the tempura batter...

Use cold water to mix the tempura and add little cajun spices in it.

If you don't have tempura batter, just mix half measure flour and half measure corn flour as replacement!

Lightly season the flowers with salt and pepper!

While seasoning the flowers and mixing the tempura batter, heat up the oil to fry!

The batter must be semi thick...light texture!

Coat the flowers with this batter and fry until crispy as you ca see below...

Place on paper towel to take out maximum oil...

And boom...Pumpkin Flowers Tempuras are ready!!!

I made for around 12 flowers and 7 people tasted them!

They all liked it and I will surely make more for them!

A very easy and yummy snack to do at home if you have some pumpkin plants out there! Everyone will love it for sure!

Zucchini flowers also work nicely in tempura...

Enjoy as is or dip in a sweet and sour sauce for best experience!
