SLC22 -W2 Bakery Course: Types of dough by @rossnenye

Hello everyone, good morning to you all and welcome back to my blog. It's Week 2 of SLC I'm so excited participating again.

🥐Of the types of dough presented in class, which one do you find most interesting and why?

Of all the dough we talked about today, the one I love most and find more Interesting is the sweet dough. I have a sweet tooth and likes consuming bread such as pineapple bread, coconut bread, fruit bread among others made from sweet doughs.

🥐Make a sweet bread, you can follow the recipe given in class or try another one, but it must be sweet without any kind of filling, YES you can decorate it with whatever you want on top (candied fruit, chocolates, grated coconut, sugar, etc.) Document the step by step, and put the date, user and the class label on a poster
Basic sweet bread

I would start by listing the ingredients and the measurement I used in making this sweet bread.

Ingredients for activating the yeast
  • 10gm of flour
  • 10gm of sugar
  • 75 ml of warm milk
Yeast fermentation
  • Add 75ml of warm milk to a cup, add 10gms of sugar, 10mg of flour and 1 tablespoon of yeast.

  • Mix it thoroughly, cover it and let it rest for 15 minutes in a warm place.

  • After that, check out for air bubbles which shows that there was a good fermentation and that the Yeast is active.

Ingredients for preparing the Dough
  • 500gm of all-purpose flour (50gm
    for sprinkling )
  • 5Gram's of salt
  • 3 eggs 2 for the dough and 1 for varnishing
  • 90gm of sugar for the yeast and 50gm for sprinkling)
  • 45 grams of butter (35gm for the dough and 10gm for greasing the mold)
  • 10gm of dry yeast.
  • 75ml of warm milk
Procedure for preparing the dough
  • Wash your hands with soap and water clean the working space

  • Add the flour and sugar in a bowl and mix with the hand and make a volcano.

  • Add the already fermented yeast and the rest of the ingredients, except the salt, and mix well.

  • keep kneading until the dough feels soft.

  • place the dough on a counter and sprinkle 50gm of the reserved flour.

  • knead again for 5 minutes, hitting the dough against the table.

  • Once the dough is smooth, add flour to the bowl where the dough will rest, this is to prevent it from sticking. Form a ball, cover with a clean cloth, and let rest for an hour or until it doubles in size.

  • Start the second kneading, put a little quantity of flour on the work surface and divide the dough into small balls of about 50 grams.

  • Grease the tray with butter and place the already formed breads in the Tray, 2 centimeters apart.

  • Cover the Tray with a clean cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes, or until it doubles in size.

  • Use the remaining egg to glaze the bread and then sprinkle it with sugar.

  • Put the bread in the oven and bake for 25minutes.

🥐Tell us about your experience making sweet bread, did you have any complications, who would you recommend the recipe to and why?

I did't experience any glitches while baking this Bread. I had an amazing experience baking this Bread. I would recommend this recipe to @adachukwu because I wouldn't want to leave this wonderful recipe all to myself.

🥐Indicate the price in Steem of a sweet bread equal to the one you made. What is more feasible, making it or buying it?Explain

In my area, a medium sweet bread cost #1500, about 4.3 steem, while I spent close to #2700 about 7.75steem making this bread. I would prepare making it even though buying it is more feasible because bread prepared at home will always taste better than the one made outside.

Thanks for reading my post, I invite @pela07, @wuddi, and @triple-a to participate in this contest.
