SLC22 -W3 Bakery Course: Stuffed Sweet Bread

Happy New Year to all my friends on Steemit!

Today, I will be participating in a bakery course - stuffed sweet bread. I have never tried making sweet stuffed bread at home. I'm very pleased and grateful for everything I learned from this course. Now my little one can enjoy his favorite sweet breads at home. I need to thank our two teachers @yenny47 and @katherine012 for demonstrating and teaching the simplest bakery techniques. It has helped me to pursue my passion for baking more and more.

🥐Do you think the rest times of the bread are important? Explain (2pts)


Yes. Rest time is essential when we add yeast because it takes a little time to activate and double in size. It helps the dough gain its elasticity and prevents it from breaking. It makes the dough easier to shape and ready for baking. Resting is also crucial to get the perfect texture, to get a soft and light dough. We should always rest it for at least two hours. The quality of the bread depends on the rest time and it's very important to give it rest time to get the dough in its best form.


🥐Make a sweet bread, you can be guided by the recipe given in class or try another, but it must be STUFFED SWEET BREAD (NOT FRIED) it must be baked, you can fill with jams or any sweet of your liking, you can decorate with whatever you want on top (candied fruits, chocolates, grated coconut, sugar, etc) Document the step by step, and places on a poster date, user and class label (4pts)



Ingredients:


300g of flour

1/4 tsp of salt

1 tbsp of sugar

1 tbsp of butter

1 tsp of yeast

1 Egg

180 ml of Mild hot water or warm milk (including milk for spreading on the bread before baking).

Step 01 - I first added the flour to my dough miking bowl followed by salt, sugar, butter, yeast, and egg.

Step 02 - While mixing I added milk to the dough.

Step 03 - I mixed until the dough was soft and sticky.

Step 04 - Then I let it rest for two hours.

Step 05 - Meanwhile, I made the bread crumbs to garnish the bread on top. Here I used 1 tbsp of flour, 1 tbsp of butter, and 2 tbsp of sugar and mixed them with my hand until they formed small bread crumbs.

Step 06 - After two hours the dough was well-risen, I removed the air in it and then made small balls and kept it on a greased baking plate.

Step 07 - Using my hands, I made a small gap in the middle to add the strawberry-flavored sweet jam. Then I washed some milk on top of the bread to give it a nice color and a soft crust.

Step 08 - After adding the jam in the middle, I added the bread crumbs on top to finish the process.

Note: Since I have instant dry yeast at home, which I recently bought from the grocery shop, I will not go with the fermentation process.


🥐Tell your experience making sweet bread, you had any complications, share your bread with a family member and document their impression. (2pts)


I always enjoy baking, and this time, I was also excited about the final outcome. I'm so glad to expand my knowledge and experiences in baking. It's always fun to try baking new recipes at home. I had no complications, I enjoyed the entire process of baking the sweet bread. I think my dough mixer made my work a lot easier. Even little Vihan was excited because he knew I was preparing something sweet for him.

This is when I served him the sweet stuffed bread. His impressions were quite impressive, he enjoyed it so much and I'm also happy as a mother because it's homemade and I have made it with the best ingredients and in a healthy way. It always feels great to serve kids something homemade rather than store-bought food.

Every day in the morning and evening we have a street food seller who comes to our doorstep on a bicycle selling his food. We know he is here when he rings the bell on his bicycle. Usually, when we feel like having a snack or need something for tea, we buy from him. I enjoy all his food, especially the ones with savory fillings. His prices are reasonable and also he sells it to our doorstep. I felt a little awkward to take pictures of his food cart. This is my favorite bread, and I frequently try it.
