Typical Sunday meals

Hello everyone, it's a pleasure to be sharing with you today one of my favorite meals. Rice is one of the most consumed foods in the world, and in my country, Nigeria, rice is mostly consumed, and many families prefer preparing rice as their Sunday meal.

Sometimes it's either rice and stew or fried rice or sometimes it can even be prepared with beans, there are many different ways of preparing rice, well I don't know the reason why rice is mostly consumed but I guess it's because many people love eating rice or maybe because many people have the same favorite food which is rice.

My family and I love eating rice almost every day 😂 especially my siblings and me, my Dad does not really like eating rice like how we do but he does not have a problem with us preparing rice every Sunday, there was a time when my Dad said we would not be preparing rice again till after two months😳

Omg that was one of the worst days in our house my siblings and I were not happy everyone thought that my Dad was just joking until after three weeks had passed and rice was not being prepared in the house, we all started pleading with our Dad to allow us to prepare rice and then he started allowing us to do so.

He also said that we had to reduce the way we always prepared rice, but we are allowed to prepare rice every Sunday, so since then rice has become our family's favorite Sunday meal, every Sunday is one of my favorite days of the week, just because of rice and stew is being prepared on that day.

Although now I'm not in the house with my family and also I do not eat rice every Sunday again😂, well I guess the reason why is because I get to eat rice whenever I choose to, now that I'm in school I mostly eat spaghetti because it's my favorite meal, but still that does not mean that I do not eat rice.

The reason why I do not usually prepare rice and stew is because I do not have money to prepare a delicious stew just the way we usually do at home, so I would prepare either jollof rice or just spaghetti instead, making rice and stew would cost a lot of money.

Well, I'm eager to go back home to my family because I miss them so much and I have also missed the home cooking because no matter how I decide to prepare mine it would never taste the same as my momma's own, my momma's cooking is the best and what gives me joy is the fact that I get to eat together with my little sister.

Eating alone is not fun unlike when I'm eating with my sister, or when we all get to gather in one place to eat together as a family😊
