The Most Important Lesson from Communism We Refuse to LearnsteemCreated with Sketch.

There are people who are absolutely convinced that Communism is the alpha and omega. Millions of them, that lived right there in the heartbeat of it, the USSR. Many are still alive that lived through the harrowing years of communism, that were reduced to mere peasants during those years. They had to stand in queues six hours long for one loaf of bread. Many never set foot in a car. Couldn't afford a washing machine, ever. Could not believe that every American household owned a fridge already 30 years prior, it's Western propaganda, they said.

Today, those communists are old, without teeth, their skin turned into rumpled paper. They now have fridges, some of them, anyway. They have access to knowledge, after the censorship of Communism evaporated and with the advent of the internet on cellphones. But they just lost the ability to think critically and to question what they believe.

Here in 2021, millions of them still swear by communism. They underwrite it. Communism was propagated as hard and as successful as any religion. Ordinary Russians, Cubans, and Chinese believed what they heard. They participated in rituals to strengthen those beliefs.

Today they long back to those 'glorious' days of yesteryear past. They want it back. Nostalgia fills them when they talk about the wonderful years of Communism. The same years they puked on the days and first years after Communism collapsed.

Despite all evidence contradicting them, millions believe blindly that communism is the best form of rule for a society. They will defend their point with vigor, even become physically aggressive. Just like a mental patient in an asylum whose delusions are being questioned by his psychologists. One dare not enter a robust debate with them.

That's the power of brainwashing over a long period.

We know, and statistics and history and so many studies proved it, that communism in its purest form does not work. It goes against human nature and all the many freedoms humans strive towards.

We should learn from that, we should spot the dangers, and we should do something to avoid such indoctrination from happening again. But we don't.

Religion is very similar to how communism were promoted. Rituals. Being told what to believe. Censorship, avoiding knowledge. Forbade to question. Fear of severe consequences being instilled. Repetition.

Beliefs cause damage.jpg

No matter in what god a person believes, without evidence to support it such a person is simply delusional. And such beliefs cause psychological harm, for life. Several thorough studies proved it. Having to love any god out of fear that something bad is going to happen if you don't, that's an abusive relationship.

There is proper, sufficient evidence that indoctrination causes brain damage. Physical damage to the brain too, in fact.

Japanese torture methods during their brutal war against China 120 years ago brought to light how POWs were made to believe the most outrageous claims, without the victims enduring physical harm. They were just being subjected to the same methods that communist leaders in Russia and apartheid leaders in South Africa deployed as well. Repetitive behavior, rituals to enforce it, fear and threats, and a carrot as counter to confuckulate the brain.

And as we all know, politicians have a vested interest in keeping their voters obedient and under control. Beliefs are the most powerful tool to accomplish that goal.

Does this article end on a positive note? Yes. The internet is busy destroying religion. Thanks to fake news online, people are learning to question what they read, to demand evidence. That's the death of any abusive doctrine.

We cannot save religiots anymore. The brain damage is done there, and irreversible. But what we as atheists say and ask online, strikes a note with the children of those psychological wrecks. When those children are not yet indoctrinated, our counter questions to the claims made by religiots get those children to ask the same questions. And when they don't get real answers from their parents, it becomes harder to become indoctrinated.

In essence, that's all us atheists want. We don't want to convert people to any religion, we merely want people to ask hard critical questions, and to demand verified evidence before believing a claim.

No wonder atheists are hated by religious people as much as mental patients hate anyone doubting their delusions.
