Did you know the lie detector was invented in 1921

in Did You Know5 months ago

The lie detector, also known as a polygraph, was invented in 1921 by a Californian police officer named John Augustus Larson.

It's interesting to note that while the polygraph machine was a novel invention at the time, it has limitations. It measures physiological responses like heart rate and breathing, which can be influenced by factors other than lying, such as anxiety or nervousness. For this reason, polygraph results are not always considered to be entirely reliable evidence in court.
