Lunar Negativity

This 12x16" acrylic piece was painted using a negative color palette.

When viewed using a negative filter, the painting looks like the following:

This piece took me around 15 hours to complete, and proved to be more of a challenge than one might expect. When using a negative color palette, you have to think about colors differently. Your highlights are your shadows and vice versa.

I used a color wheel to help figure out the opposite colors, and occasionally used the inverted filter on my iPhone to check my progress.
