Dustin Hoffman 🎨 Digital Art
Hi Art Community,
Since sharing my first artwork with you, I have been working on my next piece. Now that I've finished, I don't know why I chose this actor but I chose Dustin Hoffman. He's been in some amazing films (and some not so amazing films) and was a nice picture to work with.
As I always do, I found a photo that I like and chose the image from here. He's looking very distinguished which I liked.
I start with a sketch in photoshop and kept it very simple this time, focussing on the key area around his eyes and keeping just enough detail so that when I blend the colour in behind it, it's clear who it is and subtle at the same time.
I found the colours difficult this time, opting for a "fiery" background with primarily yellow with strong orange tones blended in. I went for a natural skin colour but I don't know how much I like this so I might try a different version with a random colour palette in the future. I'm happy with how the rest of the colours worked and by being fairly minimalist with the body outline, I also like the way that I was able to merge the body into the background.
I don't think this is my greatest work which is why I'd like to come back to it but it's not too bad considering I've not been doing this for very long. I think it's clear enough that it's Dustin.
I would love some ideas from the community for what to do next so please share some ideas in the comments.
