The small flowers with conical anthers are particularly attractive

Yes, especially if the flowers are also candy-striped

I wonder if it's a way to prevent self pollination, there seems to be very little access to the stigma

It's possible: perhaps it only allows access to very specific pollinators. The lampranthus has no difficulty making seeds although I have another plant that never flowers

The mystery of the non-flowering mesembs: I have some that flower regularly and profusely, some that refuse and others that only flower sometimes

Not to be confused with those that only flower at night ;)

Nope! These never make buds. I guess I'll have to experiment with changing light levels and give them more sun and heat exposure without burning them. That's always a tricky balance to find

Good luck! Why don't you post some?

More later then!

It will have to be, steemit is flaky today
