It’s Monday and that means market in a town nearby called Moniga del Garda. A great moment for me to go on a scavenger hunt for a nice dress and a bag with straps. I bought one last year and the straps were amazing to combine with outfits. So we left early on this cloudy Monday and while the fam bam took seat at the local coffee corner, I set off to go on to the market with my mum and aunt. We had some rain but I was under the canopy in the food isle when the rain was falling, so no complaints. I have to say I love markets and the smell of foreign food.

The market is in the city square and the car park is behind the square and free on market days Mondays. The fact that it’s not a huge market helps. Also a market where locals buy their food, that’s always a good sign. Ofcourse around here there are also markets where it’s typical for tourists. I like the small and food area with typical local products buttttt also the leisure wear and clothing.

Cheese! As a dutchie I can’t skip the cheese department. The Parmesan cheese is favorite for the pasta and to eat like candy, just because you can and the cheeses here are cheaper at the market than at the other stores. They also sell oils , olive oil and balsamic oils , they are so amazing. Great to make bruschetta, I did make it after the market for lunch and will do a recipe blog on foodiesbeehive somewhere this week.

There were many young people. The Italians have a holiday aswell and everyone is outside, enjoying the food and company.

The honey and marmalade venter is here with two vans , he is local and very good. Last time I bought two glass jars and took them home, not the best idea cause one didn’t survive the trip ! They sellers here are proud to be from this sweet little village. My parents after so long being here know a few of them.

Around lake Garda , everyday there is a market somewhere. The season for markets is busy because of all the tourists but when you love eating and cooking a must go to for fresh ingredients. I bought rocket, cherries, tomatoes the small ones and strawberries. Bread we bought at the bakers at the city square because we have to support the local “real stores” aswell.

The olives around here are huge. The seller has them in jars but also you can buy big plastic bags, and they are delicious. Olive trees are everywhere here around the lake. When I think of Italy I think about the trees and the olives.

The bag needs straps to wear it and I love the fact that there are so many possibilities to choose from. I did and I am very happy with the buy.

The market was not that busy and I think that was because the weather. For me not a problem and when you see the pictures it’s not that bad.

Shoes , bags and clothing never enough!

This is the bag I bought and I bought a beige strap to go with it. The soft color can be used with summer dresses and the other straps I will show in new pictures later on in blogs ahead. I had a great day , on to teh huge market in Desenzano del Garda , where also kids stuff and whole sale vintage clothing is available.
