Today is the last day of 2022 and also our last day of touring as we approach the final leg of this year's tour (2021) which will take us to our destination in Copenhagen and what other better way to start this last day on the road than watching the sunrise together.

Happy New Year! Wish you all good health and may 2023 bring peace on Earth so we all can enjoy life to the fullest!

Didn't get the breakfast I was looking for in the camping so I went to search for it in Koge and found it soon at Lagkagehuset bakery.

Looking at the map while having a really good coffee this morning I realised that we are quite close to Copenhagen and also that there is an art museum later on the route which for me is an interesting invitation.

About 20 km to Copenhagen there is an art museum called Arken which is a must visit for all of you art lovers/bike tourists out there.

Arken was inaugurated in 1996 and has one of Scandinavia's finest collections of contemporary art with more than 400 works, mainly Danish, Nordic and international art primarily from the period after 1990. Its exterior design resembles a gigantic stranded ship, also the same theme is present at the interior with a hull like shaped art shaft and big iron doors with visible bolts and nuts and metal stairs. One adult admission ticket is about 20 EUR and it's well worth it!

Took me 12 beautiful days to cycle from Berlin to Copenhagen, you can find a post for each one of them if you scroll back on my blog. I would recommend this trip to everybody regardless of age and experience, it's mostly flat terrain with beautiful nature and history all along this amazing EuroVelo 7 route which connects the european continent from North to South.

Accommodation is quite expensive in Copenhagen so the only thing I could find to fit my budget was a bed in a hostel called Generator for about 40 EUR which was well located close to the capital's main attractions. The neighbourhood must be a popular destination for young people cause I've seen a lot of pubs and clubs around and the streets were packed, especially back in the summer of 2021 when everybody was taking a break from Corona.

I only had that evening and the next morning to visit Copenhagen before going back to Berlin by train so I took a quick shower and went out for a walk.

After my little evening tour I had some dinner, a beer and call it a day, a very good day, filled with a sunrise, fine art, cycling and a long warm summer evening walk in one of Europe's most beautiful capitals.

Hope you found some inspiration here for your next year bike tour and see you soon with another post about my last day in Denmark before returning back to Berlin by train.

Until next time,
