Well, I've heard so many times before, being single shouldn't deter one from enjoying Valentines day or celebrating love. I am a strong believer in this, and quite frankly, I have always found myself single on Valentines day so it's really not that big of a deal. Self-love is something I've had to master, even though on some days it seems harder than most.
This past Valentines day, I decided to do something special for myself, and believe me when I say I went all out.
But First Tapas..
I started of my Valentines afternoon at a mid-day taps join. Had 2 glasses of wine and what seemed like some friend fish and Tortilla de patatas. Not the best Tapas, I was just there for the wine, to get me in the mood to celebrate and take in all the love spreading across the city.
Then took Metro to the city center...
.....where I randomly shopped for things I needed. Like a new pair of sun-glasses, some note books(because I'm a stationary junkie who never has enough of them), and I also threw in a couple of clothing. Fun times!
After, I took a walk around the city,.
.... taking random photos of very artistic Madrid buildings. Then I came across a street singer who was singing some very soothing romantic songs. She was surrounded by lovers and people of all walks of life. She had the most melancholic voice and nearly brought me to tears. I hope to find that kind of passion, one that makes me wanna scream and share with the world at whatever cost. Really guys, she was so good! If you wanna see here, watch out for my upcoming vlog.
Fire Lit Dinner...
When the live street show was over, I looked for a nice restaurant where I could have dinner. Being I was in one of the most expensive streets in the city, it didn't take that long. All I need to find was a place I felt comfortable and warm, since it was quite chilly at this point. Long story short, I started on the Tapas but never got to the main dinner because the Tapas snacks were more than enough. So instead, I had more drinks and enjoed the free food, win-win!
Squid... YumSince we have a 10pm curfew here in Madrid, I didn't do much after dinner. Just rushed home, full of gratitude. It was a great Valentines Day. By far one of the best I've had. Being single is not a reason to fel left out, you can always do something for yourself or your loved ones until you find that special someone.
