Travelling for a staycation in a French-themed castle in Malaysia.

Approximately 10,422 kilometres from France, a Malaysian billionaire decided to bring a little of France, specifically Alsace to Malaysia by means of building a French-themed castle and village on a hill called "Bukit Tinggi" (directly translated from the Malay Language to English is High Hill)approximately 3,000 feet above sea level. "Bukit Tinggi" is located approximately 45 minutes drive (assuming we're going at a speed of +/- 100km/h) from Kuala Lumpur City Center.

However, with the "lovely view" as illustrated above🙄, after 1.5 hours😤, we finally arrived at "Bukit Tinggi"!!🥰

At the bottom of the hill, there are 2 guard posts and after we have passed the guard posts, driving at a speed of ~80km/h, in 10 minutes, we finally caught a glimpse of the French-themed castle from afar. Super EXCITED!

Getting closer........

And......................Arrived~~~!!!!

The Chateau; built on 34,000 sq meters of unspoilt land, (but thanks to this project, the land is now spoilt but well-maintained) surrounded by lush greenary and brick-built walls, paired with the cooling fresh air (~20 celsius is cool for us 😁), transported us into another world - France (almost if we imagined hard enough🤣). The Chateau's architecture was inspired by the Château du Haut-Kœnigsbourg in Alsace, France.

Appreciating the change of scenery and imagining we are somewhere in France 😅 p/s: if you are French and you see this and this is not anywhere near what any part of your country looks like, please don’t hate😝😅

Making our way to the reception, we were in awe with the design and architecture of The Chateau, till the very detail of the contemporary chandelier that lights up the corridor's pathway.

The price of a room per night at The Chateau starts from MYR 510.00, onwards. Hence, we took the cheapest room - the deluxe room. 😝😂 Upon entering our room, the scent of lemongrass with various floral blends, sting our nostrils pleasantly. A smell one would associate with a spa parlour. 2 shot glasses of fresh tomato juice (tasted more like tomato puree) were placed on each side of the bedside tables as welcome drinks along with a platter of local fruits. We were thirsty and greedy from the traffic jam and drive, hence, it was ingested without a photo opportunity. Ooppss😜

Aside from the pillows being humongous, it is also labelled as 100% organic. Almost everything in our room was 100% organic, even the linens, bathrobes, etc. The hygiene products provided were of Voya brand; a luxury organic skincare brand from Ireland.

Rested and refuelled, we decided to explore The Chateau's grounds.

Walking through a hydroponic garden. There are many plants and probably herbs too, but I have no idea what is what nor which is which.

Further up, we discovered a spacious balcony overlooking the main road.

We took some moments here to enjoy this view 👇🏽 and again the FRESH (way less polluted air).

One of the plus points of The Chateau is that it is very peaceful and truly catered for a relaxing getaway with ample privacy. We had the whole area to ourselves and every now and then, we would bump into a human or two.

After enjoying this humble and easily accessible scenic view, we decided to go for a swim in the salt-infused water pool.

After spending hours chilling by the pool and a relaxing swim with some vitamin D, we are ready to head back to our room. On the way back, we walked pass some interestingly decorated corners.

Totally relaxed and Zen look 🤣 yea.. looks like I’m going to hug the poll and doze off paired with those small eyes😜

We ordered room service and the food was mediocure. There is not much or any activities at night, so we tucked ourselves in early and had a late start the next morning 🤣

After a filling buffet breakfast, we got ready to head home. The Chateau offers spa packages and facilities as well for the ultimate relaxation experience. However, aside for being too pricy (for most locals), including myself, we had achieved our goal - do nothing but relax staycation. 🤣

The Chateau is an ideal quick getaway for the overly-stressed. The cool temperature, ambience, landscape and service by the hospitality team eases the mind, body and soul.

Lastly, before we take our leave and head home, we dropped by to visit some geese at the entrance to the French-themed village (I'll saved this for another trip).

Thank you very much and "à bientôt" ✌🏽
