After six months in Brazil (I’ll tell you very soon about some experiences there too), I’m back on the road again. Yes, for sure, coronavírus will slow down my plans to live in this world but won’t stop me.

So, here I am in the Netherlands, this flat-flat country, full of windmills, flowers, waters, and amazing cheese. I came here to visit my boyfriend, who is Dutch. We meet In Thailand, and since the pandemic we were nine months on a distance relationship.

Exploring the Netherlands with a native, for sure is more interesting. Despite the measures for the pandemic are as unstable as the weather here, we still can do a lot of stuff. My boyfriend, like me, loves to hike in nature. So, we are taking some time to explore the wild and beautiful nature of the Netherlands.

Lately we did a great hike on De Zilk, a small village where he lives. They have an amazing park, with beautiful forests and trails that take you to the beach. For me, which was born in the tropical nature, I still get enchanted about the quietness, the smells, and the beauty of European forests.

In this post, I would like to share some shots of the amazing nature you can find here! And how to enjoy more this place!

How to get there?

Well, I’ll be honest with you! Getting into the entrance of the park is not the easiest thing to do if you’re coming by public transportation. The nearest train station stays on the Hillegom, which is around 30 minutes' walking. The best way to get into the entrance of the park is by bicycle. You can leave your bike there, have a walk and at the entrance, you can also fill your bottle with fresh water.

Don’t get lost!

Despite the park has signs everywhere and the hiking trails are flat, it’s a huge park, which means you can get lost very easily. So make sure you have a map with you or your GPS.

You can hike to cities nearby or to the beach, which was my favorite route. On the sunset, it’s amazing!

Nature

You will see a lot of free deer running free around. I particularly love these scenes that make me feel I was on the Bambi cartoon! You can also see foxes, frogs (especially at the sunset), and some water birds. The region is full of channels of water too. So, it’s pretty beautiful to see nature around.

The trees that were different shapes because the wind is special too. You can make nice pictures around!

The beach

The beach is also a great place to chill and enjoy. You can be naked if you want (I simply love that), but unfortunately it was too cold to show my boobs around!

You can walk to some nearby towns and along the beach they have some snack bars where you can have some deep fry seafood, or even better, some smoked herring on the bread which is typically Dutch and one of my fav snacks here!

Some typical Dutch delicacies
