Back in 2018 my family and I started traveling full-time in a travel trailer.  We would pick up short-term work assignments in places that hired people who specifically lived in RVs.  From Yellowstone National Park to Santa Fe, New Mexico, and many destinations in between we lived, worked, and traveled like this for a little over two years.  It was during these first 2 years of full-time traveling that my wife Julia got the hiking bug and decided she wanted to solo hike the Appalachian Trail.  Her goal was to start in 2020 but the pandemic put the kibosh on that.  Over the next two years, we lost two beloved family members and she had to put it off again.   Well, 2023 is her year and she recently started her journey.

According to the Appalachian Trail Conservancy the trail is 2,194.3 miles in length from end to end.   Starting in Amicalola Falls State Park in Georgia and ending on top of Mount Katahdin in Maine, it is one of the most popular and storied trails in the world.

Back in February, she posted her announcement that was going to start hiking the trail.

Within a week we were driving up to Amicalola State Park to hike the approach trail together before I let her loose in the woods on her own.

Come follow along on her journey at Julias Time Out on YouTube.  Don't forget to like, subscribe and share and thank you for watching!

     She is one bada$$ woman!
