Exploring the bayous, Louisiana, USA (6 pics)

in TravelFeed3 years ago

As I ventured out onto this Mississippi Delta body of water, I wasn't sure what to expect.

What I wanted to see the most was obviously an alligator, and I was not disappointed, I saw several.

But a ride in the bayous of Louisiana is much more than that!

We discover particular landscapes that cannot be found elsewhere.

We discover trees, bald cypress and tupelo, the only ones that can survive in these lands.

12,000 km2 of tranquil flooded forest that serves as home to several species of animals from toads to snakes to turtles, to name a few.

It is possible to sail thousands of miles through bayous throughout southern Louisiana to admire landscapes that are both enchanting and spooky.

When we get out of the dense forest, we realize how wide and immense the bayous are.

A unique experience worth living at least once.
