15th century Shamlaji Temple inside with amazing views #shorts

Shamlaji temple, sometimes written Shamalaji, is a prominent Hindu pilgrimage centre in Gujarat's Aravalli region. Vishnu is honoured in the Shamlaji temple. A number of additional Hindu temples may be found nearby.

The current temple, dedicated to Shamlaji, a form of Vishnu, was built in the Chaulukya style in the 11th century, but the current edifice dates from the 15th and 16th centuries. The sanctuary's Vishnu sculpture is possibly from the 7th or 8th century, while the tiny temple across the street has a Shiva sculpture from the 6th century. The tiny 9th-century Harishchandrani Chauri Temple, with a gateway adjacent, is the oldest complete temple. The antiquity of the site is shown by the numerous temple remains, dispersed idols, and old brickworks that surround it.

A 4th-century Buddhist monastery and pagoda at Devnimori located about 2 kilometres distant, but the Meshvo Reservoir has flooded it.

This site is from the Mauryan period, and a much earlier microlith site near Shamlaji is known as Dhek-Vadlo.

Shamlaji was a major Hindu centre in the 6th century, and it was most likely the location of a sculpting workshop whose works have been discovered as far away as Mumbai, where the Parel Relief was discovered. The majority of the blueish schist sculpture discovered in Shamlaji has been relocated to museums, particularly in Mumbai and Vadodara.
