Castle in Spišský Hrhov / Kaštieľ v Spišskom Hrhove
I wrote this post in two languages. In English and Slovak language.
I wrote a post about this castle for me a little unconventionally. Although I have been to the chateau in Spišský Hrhov several times, I wrote a post about it from a wedding photo shoot of two amazing people, whose portrait photos I took right here.
It's September, a beautiful sunny Sunday and I wake up from bed after the wedding photo shoot. As soon as I get up, I am preparing the equipment for the next photo shoot. I check and clean the lenses and the camera, remove the batteries from the charger and put everything in my bag. Another photo is waiting for me. We didn't have time to take the portrait photos on the wedding day, so we agreed to take them today.
We meet around 15:00 and set off in the direction of Spišský Hrhov. I designed this place because I know it and I imagined the photos of the bride and groom right here. I believed that the weather would last us, which happened. We are there in less than half an hour. The bride changed into a wedding dress, the groom into a suit, and in the meantime I set the camera to the current lighting conditions.
The sun shines exactly as I imagined and we take the first wedding portrait photos. The bride and groom are in the foreground and behind them the Spišský Hrhov chateau stands out.
The land and the first buildings that stood on this site belonged to the Görgey family for many years. They settled in Spiš as early as 1278 and built a family residence there.
The turning point for the castle occurred in 1885, when Count Vidor Csáky and his wife Anna Normann-Ehrenfels bought the entire property. It was they who had this unique castle built, which adorns the surrounding area.
The most beautiful part is, in my opinion, its eastern part. It leads to a spacious park and this is where we take the most photos. I exaggerate the newlyweds up and down.
However, they took on the role of models for today, and it was clear from them that despite a short sleep and after a night's sleep, they enjoy taking pictures.
The large baroque staircase with a stone balustrade is ideal for camera shots.
The staircase leads to the main entrance. We are also slowly climbing up. You simply can't take pictures at this door.
Beautiful weather accompanies us all the time. I use it and try to capture three things with my lens. Happy newlyweds, the beauty of the castle and in the background a penetrating blue sky dotted with white clouds.
The castle was looted during World War II and subsequently served as an orphanage and reading center. It is currently owned by the municipality and the park is used for walks and relaxation.
Well thank you.
Kontrolujem a čistím objektívy a fotoaparát, z nabíjačky si vyberám batérie a všetko si odkladám do brašne.
Aj my pomaly stúpame hore. Pri týchto dverách sa skrátka nedá neodfotiť.
Celý čas nás sprevádza krásne počasie. Využívam to a snažím sa svojím objektívom zachytiť tri veci. Šťastných mladomanželov, krásy zámku a v pozadí prenikavú modrú oblohu posiatu bielymi mrakmi.
