I miss this fruit. I found sometimes herebut it is so expensive. I rather bought in a can and satisfied my craving. Jackfruit is so yummy @wakeupkitty you can try it in a canned jackfruit in any grocery.

About durian, I don't like it. It caused the death of my Aunt too young. She ate durian after their dinner and she drank Pepsi.. It was the caused of her death. So please do not drink soda after eating durian.

Jackfruit is also good with taho @olivia08. Have you tried that already?

Are you sure it was the durian or was it the Pepsi? Soda with durian is very popular here and though there were cases of strokes and heart attacks while mixing both, it was determined those who had these attacks were already afflicted with hypertension and heart problems in the first place. Anyway, durian is an acquired taste. They say it smells like hell but tastes like heaven. It took my wife 5 years to even taste durian. But now, she loves them.

She stil doesn't like it. Did your wife loss her smell or? Because odor influences what we taste.

My wife can smell me a mile away 😂 Nope, her sense of smell is perfectly all right. What made her develop a liking to the fruit was when I went into the business of freezing the durian flesh. You see the fruit is so thorny that opening it poses a challenge to most people. So there was a market for those who loved to eat durian without the hassle of opening it. So I became an expert in deshelling durian and transferring the pulp with the seed in styrofor containers, cling wrap them and freeze. They had to be frozen to prolong its life and freshness. And guess who my assistant was then? My wife, of course. You guessed it. Eventually, the ughs and the eeews, changed to "It's not so bad" to "Hey let me try" and to "I love it."

Because odor influences what we taste.

So I guess you are right. She got used to the odor and everything's history 😋😋😋
