A Good Life (PowerUp 100%)
Today I visited a village called Manipur. The place is not far from the main town yet the lifestyle there is much healthier than the city life. The people are less attached to technology and mostly use their legs as a means of transport. They grow from their own land, therefore their food is naturally processed and unadulterated. Working in their fields keeps them physically fit. The rooster begins the day with its cock-a-doodle-do so no alarm clock is needed. Waste management is done by the pigs and cows. The leftover foods (and also the human excreta) are consumed by them. And their waste is used in the fields as manure (a natural ecosystem). The houses are made of mud and it smells nice. There are wells and springs that provide the people with enough water to live happily. And greenery surrounds the village.
I have captured some images that may give you a glimpse of rural life in India. The people in this village are mostly the Santhals. The Santhals are the largest and one of the oldest tribes in India(I'm one of them).
In the photograph below you can see the mud houses. The neighbours are literally next door. There are also clay pots hanging from the roofs that give shelter to the domestic pigeons.
In the following photograph, you can see the traditional stoves. One is a fixed stove that is built on the ground (left to the chair). And the other is a portable stove (left to the left entry). Coal and wood are used as fuel while using them.
The next photo is from the interior. The interior usually stays dark as electricity is not adequately supplied. At the night, fire lanterns are used in the absence of electricity. The chickens behave like family members. They roam around the house most of the time.
These are my nieces and nephew who live in the house. The smiles on their faces are proof that not much is needed to live a happy life.
I hope you like my post.
These people are not chasing technology and live a natural life.
You wrote a very good post. I am interested in how ordinary people live all over the world. The media show us lies and form a distorted picture of the world, this is their shame.
Please show us more real photos of real life in India.
