Robber Fly: The Assassin Flies
English
If the tiger is known as the king of the jungle, and the eagle as the king in the sky, then the robber fly is the king of flies. King of flies? Yup, the king of flies because the robber fly has a muscular body and a violent appearance. Not only was it capable of killing a fly, but it was also even capable of slaughtering a dragonfly, or an insect that was bigger than it. It slaughtered its prey while flying, so it's no wonder it was called the robber fly.
Indonesia
Dia membantai para mangsanya sambil terbang, maka tak heran dia dinamakan lalat perampok.
Robber flies belong to the Asilidae family, also known as assassin flies. When exploring places where insects are likely to be inhabited, I never encountered them in forests or hilly areas. I recently discovered their habitat in a place on the edge of a swamp.

It's surprising to discover new creatures that one never encounter before. I did never imagine that there was a king of the flies, even when I've read the famous novel "Lord of the flies" by William Golding! I liked that mostach!! :)

Thank you @leveuf for leaving a comment. I think that robber flies also have habitats on the American mainland. This is fascinating insects, because the word "robber" attached to their name indicates that they are assassin insects.
