There is a hope…

in WORLD OF XPILAR3 years ago (edited)

With the establishment of the new communities of the month of the Steemit Engagement Challenge it was inevitable for me as the current head of Latino Community to feel somewhat demoralized, since, I felt that due to the performance achieved in recent weeks I had at least an 80% chance that the community would be selected for that activity. I decided to breathe a little and not let myself be carried away by discouragement, as a result of that I took a look at the selected communities and my conclusion was that this time they focused on selecting communities with little influx, or little recognized at a general level which led me to ask myself: Is this action really beneficial? And the truth is that yes, then new communities will strengthen themselves in the blockchain benefiting the entire ecosystem.

As in everything, things are not always 100% good, because these communities will have a high, but once the Challenge is over they will go down again, perhaps with some new users but with considerable decline that in the medium term will make them discouraged by not having solid support again (if they are not reelected). So clearly, support based on unguaranteed votes is not being sustainable and it is a situation that we have been feeling firsthand for some months now.

After seeking the opinions of some people, today I would like to propose a support system that could be considered more effective and that would be beneficial for everyone, and that is the delegation-based support system, and yes, I know that this system failed in the past, but today I would like to emphasize some points that would ensure that this does not happen again.

Delegation-based support system

The @misterdelegation account (from which the steemcurator delegations come) currently has 2.4 M SP which are not being used at all, those Steem Power could be distributed among X community accounts which would be responsible for using this power, so the healing work would be better distributed, communities would have a solid capacity to support their own dynamics and there would be better development of content creator

To prevent the abuse of this Steem Power, the following rules may apply:

  • Do not use downvotes. I personally am in favor of using downvotes to combat abuse on the platform, but I can understand that some people do not want to use their tokens to give downvotes, so not allowing this would be enough.

  • Return a portion of curation rewards to @misterdelegation. If necessary, a commitment could be made to return x percentage of healing rewards to this account weekly or biweekly, it is something easy to calculate with SteemWorld.

  • Do not use self-votes. Farming situations would be reduced to the maximum, since there will be more SP voting users steemcurator01 could focus more on supporting community accounts while community accounts work on supporting others.

  • Present weekly curative work reports. Detailed information on the use of Steem Power is always appreciable since clear accounts retain friendships.

Violating these rules could mean losing the delegation.

In my experience managing the community account @cotina, from 300,000 SP you enter a situation of stagnation and it is that in general there is not much more Steem Power available, users often also want to have their own voting value so growing more than there, at the moment it is a titanic task. How is it intended to have sustainable communities from there with the support of unsecured votes? Well, this proposal would help well-established communities take the missing step, the delegated Steem Power would generate profits for:

  • Steemit Inc.

  • Community Account.

  • Users in general.

Limitations

A team dedicated to monitoring the proper use of the delegated Steem Power would be required, to support several communities at the same time it would also be necessary to reduce the SP of Steemcurator01 a little since otherwise there will not only be few left or delegated under SP.

For you, dear Steemit Inc representative. I think still there is a hope to highly increase our own value, hear our suggestions, thanks.

This is an idea that should be looked at more closely by steem.inc

Friend, it seems to me that this is an excellent idea which you propose, you explain it excellently and very understandably, I hope God will pay attention to this good suggestion that would basically help us all! And there would be a new hope!!

Cheers!!

Excelente propuesta, creo que sería la más adecuada y así todos seríamos apoyados por igual, el desánimo desaparecería y participarían más personas dentro de la comunidad. Dios quiera y estás sugerencias sean escuchadas.

Hello! A good proposal, but most likely it will not be implemented. I also suggested increasing support for bloggers in order to more actively develop the entire Steemit community. But there is one problem. Bloggers and investors (those who have invested in UPVU) profit from one pool of rewards. If the share of revards of loggers increases, then the rewards of investors will decrease. The Steemit team is afraid of this, and they can be understood. By provoking the outflow of investors, you can bring down the price of STEEM and completely sink our ship.

A successful economy can only be built when it has an inflow of money from outside. And I'm not talking about speculative investors who invest money and then withdraw even more money. I'm talking about a model in which Steemit will have a constant inflow of money through certain types of business activities.

It can be advertising, it can be writing articles to order, it can be product reviews, etc. Of course, it is important that all the money received for these services is exchanged for STEEM and spent on Power Up accounts.

But this should be done by the community, not the Steemit team. Then Steemit would be the first cryptocurrency project to be profitable, not because investors are investing in it, because they see the price of the token rising. But due to the fact that there is a constant inflow of funds through business activities. Naturally, then the price of STEEM would start to rise and cryptocurrency investors would rush to invest in the token. All this would lead to a price explosion.

It can be advertising, it can be writing articles to order, it can be product reviews, etc. Of course, it is important that all the money received for these services is exchanged for STEEM and spent on Power Up accounts.

You’re completely right, we need real investors that spend their money for a product and not for auto profit

Glad to receive your word, you gave me a few ideas about how to attract more investors,
