New year airedale

The less often you paint, the more scary it is for me to take up paints and a brush and draw something of my own, without the help of the master. In any case, as a self-taught beginner, I am scared.

Therefore, having the time and desire to draw, I went to YouTube to look for free master classes. There are many of them. But I was hooked by a master class on drawing with watercolors - a dog in a New Year's cap against the background of a tree and lights. The dog was smooth-haired, like a dachshund. I am not interested. I needed an Airedale Terrier. It was next to the Airedale Terrier that I spent my childhood, many New Year's memories are associated with it.

Having rummaged through the Internet, I found several photos of the Airedale Terrier in a suitable angle, with a protruding tongue, with a shaggy muzzle. I watched the artist's master class, listened to explanations, focused on the photo reference and drew my work.

I used 100% cotton paper. I enjoyed this experience.
I applied the paint in several layers. So far, I can't manage to withstand the desired saturation with one spot.
But I'm happy with the result.
