Photo contest: post processing #6 - Cold waiting time.

in WORLD OF XPILAR2 years ago (edited)

A few years ago we were forced to leave one very warm and sunny country where we had lived for a long time.

There, when the heat subsided and the evening coolness fell on the city, we got into our car and went to a wonderful park in the Valley of Mills near the lake and enjoyed a walk.

When we had plenty of walking we were looking for a bench and as long as possible so that we all fit and could safely enjoy the beautiful sunset.

That time flew by and we could not find something similar in the city where we live today.

Every time we go out for a walk, we remember how our children ran forward in search of a suitable bench, or two benches standing side by side.

Many years have passed and even in winter those benches thoughts about them warm us.

A place where you can dream and talk discuss something important or just sit and laugh, the memory of him is in my photo work which became another entry for competition Photo contest: post processing #6 organized by the Dear @bambuka.

Today the most picturesque place to go is the neighboring swamps lol but I can't go there with the whole family my girls don't really like swampy bumps lol.

But perhaps if there was a suitable bench there my chances of such a walk with my family would greatly increase at any time of the year regardless of the heat and cold.

In my work I decided to combine warm memories of the past a cold present and a bright future in an atmospheric sunrise and snow is just the time that I want to hurry.

It can be said that again the task for the competition was not the easiest, despite the simplicity of the image of two snow-covered benches somewhere in the park which I photographed and sent as a competition task Dear @ty-ty.

I realized right away that I needed to remove the background but what to do with it I still did not know.

Appetite comes with eating and I decided to remove everything to the maximum.

I thought I needed to add some juiciness to this bench that I planned to place on my own snowy background but it took a long time to look for what I approved in my soul.

I found what I was looking for and it was a landscape photograph taken by me in the winter in the swamps.

You see swamp hummocks covered with snow.

The photo was taken in the early morning and I wanted to brighten it up a bit.

Just in case I prepared an extra layer leaving only the tree and some grass in the foreground.

To create what I was looking for I needed snowfall and I borrowed it from a photograph that I took in the city last New Year's Eve.

There is pure snow here you don't see it very well, but it's there.

This is how the first two layers of the future picture began to look.

Now, it's time to add the bench covered in snow.

5aaDSC08426.png

The next layer was a patch of grass in the foreground to create some three-dimensional perception.

6aaDSC08426.png

It's getting better but it's not over yet more work needs to be done.

Another layer creates volume for the snowfall and it remains to age the bench a little but you have already seen this in the first photograph.

Most likely, it will seem to you that I have stepped aside from surreal stories and hit a dry reality but in fact a bench in the swamps is no less surreal than Pepsi at McDonald's.

Romance in the swamps ...
I already feel the approach of the New Year :)
I like your result. By the way, I also really like swamps, it's a special world.

You showed the process of creating your work well. Now I want to work with layers too, although I usually didn't do this before.
There is a feeling that I will gradually get to work in Photoshop :-))

For my hardware acceleration, photoshop is unreal, it's fantastic for my computer :), I work on the free online editor pixlr.com. There are not enough functions, but with the help of a file you can do whatever you want.
Yes, and swamps, as a photo editor, you need to be able to understand, this is associated with wet shoes, but it's worth it. Thank you!

If I'm going to work with layers, then it's only FSH.
LR and FSH are integrated into each other and I have already got used to LR. So, I have only one way.

As for the swamps... I just love them :) I walked on them even barefoot, when the height of my rubber boots was not enough for the depth of the swamp. At any time of the year, the marshes beckon me with their wonders :)

I didn’t try this option of walking through the swamps, usually I was shod, and after that, shod in some kind of darkness ... so it seemed to the sellers in the supermarket, usually, before going to the store, I ran into the swamps to take a few photographs :).

👍 🤣 😂😅🍄🧑‍💻

It seems like a postcard, the bank says: come here and take a seat. On closer inspection, however, one loses the desire to sit on the bench. As beautiful as the picture is, sitting down it would be uncomfortably cold. Well, how often do we want something, but on closer inspection no longer.

Great work, I like the picture and the story.

Apparently, there is a share of my dream to create a postage stamp :), I have not thought about the Christmas theme yet. There is one comic saying: It is better to sit badly than to stand well on your feet, snow can be cleared, and if there is something to lay under the fifth point of support, then you can sit in the cold.

@barski, A warm memory in a snowy landscape. Your image recreates it faithfully. The warm tone of the light gives it a special touch.
I liked the story you share with us. Congratulations!

Thank you! I hope that the Christmas atmosphere was present :).

So I have to conclude that you did not make use of the text by WeisserRabe - and in so far you used only the "..." from it, am I right?

I did not use the text, but the thought from the text: Freeze to melt ..., to build a general picture and my own idea. I hope you noticed it. My memories of the sunny country are frozen at the moment, but I'm talking about the hope that they can thaw.

the thought from the text: Freeze to melt

No, I did not notice that, sorry!
(And it was no need to use the text, only a suggestion.)

;-)

I froze my thoughts about that park in order to return there, to that bench.

Great work!

Thank you!
