I must admit that I had never heard of sun bears, although I have always held wildlife literature in high esteem. An interesting creature, it is surprising that its small dimensions did not make it a very popular pet along with dogs. It’s hard for me to imagine what interest it might have among poachers, the skin is small, there’s not much meat, there’s bile... I think there’s not much bile there either, if we talk about those things that put bears at risk. But apparently, human greed does its dirty work here too, and these bears have to seek protection.
