Water Tower of 1894
15 minutes walk from my place in St. Petersburg, Russia. #steemexclusive
First, they constructed an explosives plant there. In 1894, they raised this tower for the water supply of that factory. The factory changed the location but the tower is still there.
Once, it was a half-abandoned industrial area. Nowadays, it is turning into a prestigious seaside residential district. The tower looks quite lonely in the new settings. Probably, this is why people love this bizarre construction even more.

Спасибки ) Это старая находка. Будучи студентом, я даже писал рассказ, где эта башня была одной из локаций. Почему "писал"? Потому что рассказ вышел большой, и его надо было полировать, а где-то залеплять и перешивать ... и в итоге так он и так и остался черновиком. Наверное, такое случается со многими.
I love the water tower featured in your post here @datych I live near a water tower too💁♀️It’s 5 minutes from my house. Nowadays birds of prey nest there and if you walk past it sometime in the evening you end up seeing a random bunch of birdwatchers with binoculars and scopes social distancing of course. I like the light on your photos so I was wondering what time of the day you took the images? Based on the energetic cyclist on the second photo, I’d guess you took them in the morning maybe? 🤔
Hey ) Thank you! It was in the evening :) No serious birds of prey here except seagulls. The last hunt pigeons.
