Better Living: The Importance of Paying Attention to Details!

in WORLD OF XPILAR3 years ago

I'll be the first to admit that I don't have any "unique talents," nor are there really any areas — creative, or otherwise — in which I am naturally "gifted."

You know how it is: Some people can just pick up some skill and "instantly know."

With that out of the way, we live in a highly competitive world. Back when I worked in "Korporate Amerika" the term "it's a dog eat dog world" was thrown around a lot as an indicator of just how ruthless things would get. It's one of the main reasons I left the IT Industry.

What's my point here?

How do we hang in there in a dog-eat-dog world, when we don't have some unique talent or skill to set ourselves apart from and above the rest of the field?

In my case, my "survival" depended on always paying attention to the tiniest of details and "being bothered" to focus on those things most others couldn't be bothered with.

I wasn't faster, and I wasn't more talented, and I wasn't more dedicated," and I wasn't more ambitious, but I WAS willing to mire myself down in the tiniest of details in ways others lacked the patience for.

Now, I have generally avoided cutthroat environments since becoming self-employed in the late 1990's, but that doesn't mean that I don't still employ the skill set I learned way-back-when.

Since seriously getting involved in the Cryptosphere some five years ago, paying attention to detail and "being bothered" has stood me in really good stead!

Over the years, I have "been bothered" to sign up for and collect a number of "seemingly valueless" airdrops that have since turned out to be anything but worthless.

For example, only a few weeks ago I decided to hold onto about 2,200 airdropped tokens in a project where most people cashed out of almost immediately... three weeks later, I was able to collect almost US $500 from that small decision!

In my earliest days, I was even "bothered" with so-called "faucets" which would pay out tiny fractions of a cent (in cryptocurrency) every now and then. I was often told it was "a complete waste of time."

One such faucet ended up containing about 900 Dogecoin — earned at a time when DOGE was worth less than 1/10th of a cent — which I was able to sell for 30 cents per coin.

Paying attention to detail can definitely be worthwhile!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you had a good weekend, and that the week ahead will be awesome!

How about YOU? Are you good at paying attention to tiny details? Can you "be bothered" to take on tiny tasks most people ignore? Do leave a comment — share your experiences — be part of the conversation!
