The Feast is Over — Life Resumes!

in WORLD OF XPILAR24 days ago

Well, Thanksgiving has come and gone, here in the USA!

Although many people are undoubtedly enjoying a long weekend, our own celebration was brief (yesterday) and we return to life's usual doings today.

Today was the infamous "Black Friday" on which many probably went shopping, in search of exceptional deals on electronics and various popular items. Not my personal cup of tea, although I'm sure some folks scored some marvelous bargains!

Even though we were with friends and family yesterday, I was reminded of just how much I like our quiet and relatively solitary life!

Of course, there is much to be grateful for, even though we often struggle to make ends meet. I think it's important to remember the underlying reasons for the Thanksgiving holiday, and not get lost in the commercial aspects of it.

There is a long-time favorite bumper sticker I periodically run into that reads "The best things in life are not THINGS" and I believe that to be very true.

We might think that what will make us happy and fulfilled is the next big think we can buy from some shop — from a fancy watch to a new car — but when we look back upon the expanse of our lives, chances are that what we remember most are moments in which we had some kind of experience. Ultimately, the size of our bank account turns out to be of relatively little importance.

Lest you think "that's just something a poor person would say to make themselves feel better about life!" it's actually not... in a distant past, I knew many very wealthy people, and most of them spoke of the people in their lives... not their assets.

All that said, life gets to resume its normal path now.

We are coming to the end of the month of November, and there will be just one month to go in this rather eventful year of 2024.

I find myself wondering whether we will have one of those "Santa Claus Rallies" the the Cryptosphere, this year? End the year on a high note...

I could use a bit of positive financial news to round out the year!

Meanwhile, December is always a busy month around here. I have two weekend long events where I am going to be a "vendor" at events with my artwork... I am really looking forward to those, although I also know it will be a lot of work!

Hard to believe the year is almost over!

I have a feeling 2025 will be a very interesting year, particularly with a new government on the way in, here in the USA. It's so unusual to have a former President become President again, after a gap between terms. I wonder if Trump learned anything from his first term that will be materially different during this coming term...

One this seems to be holding true: The Crypto world seems to like him, and everyone is behaving as if we will be heading towards much easier times, as crypto aficionados.

I certainly welcome that, given how it has become more and more difficult to find ways to even trade crypto in the USA, with more and more difficult restrictions and laws putting the shackles on crypto exchanges.

Well, it's getting late, so I'd best get this posted!

If you were celebrating, I hope you had a marvelous Thanksgiving... and if you were not, it's still a good practice to remember gratitude for what you have!

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great weekend!

How about you? Did you celebrate Thanksgiving? Has 2024 been a good year for you? Do you have any special plans for the 2024 Christmas holiday? Leave a comment if you feel so inclined — share your experiences — be part of the conversation!
